Albus stared at the flustered boy in front of him with raised eyebrows. This boy had nervously stood in front of him, his friends cheering him on, and blocked his way to the toilet. Albus itched behind his leather jacket on his neck and watched him anxiously ruffle cards.
"You okay, pal?" Albus asked and the blond glanced up at him. He nodded with the reddest cheeks. Albus grew a secret smile at that.
"I- well, did it- it hurt when-" He went to get the card underneath but his shakey hands dropped them all. Albus watched with a smile and ignored his friends making "Oh, god, no" sounds and laughing. Scorpius rushed to pick them up.
"Shit-shit, sorry-"
"Hey, what's your name?" Albus asked, and the blond bit his lip.
"Sc-Scorpius..."
"Hm? I'm Albus."
"I know." He mumbled.
"How?"
"You're the only other openly gay kid in our year."
His friends silenced and then sniggered.
"Ayup, Al! Perfect match for ya!" His friend snorted and Albus rolled his eyes, blushing himself now.
"Just because I'm gay doesn't mean I'm up for dating. Now let me piss." He shoved past and into the toilet.
"You know, you shouldn't be so ashamed." Harry told him as he got home and explained.
"Why? He had no right-!"
"But you should embrace it. He didn't mean it like that, he probably genuinely liked you." Harry said, ruffling his son's hair.
"As if." He said in a small voice.
"Why not?"
"Dad, come on..."
"What?"
Albus sighed and Harry snorted.
"You don't think you're all that?"
Albus shook his head.
"Well you are. You're my son."
Albus snorted. "Hmm."
"Hey!" Harry laughed and Albus split a grin. "See? Even your smile is nice. He sounds really nervous, bless him."
"He had flashcards to hit on me with."
"Did he throw them at you?"
"Please, that's not what I mean. Can you help me?"
"Do what? You shouldn't have snapped at him or stormed into the toilet so embarrassed. You should have laughed and spoke to him. Thinking of your sexuality as an embarrassment just forms a path for others to as well. And you know that being gay isn't a bad thing."
"The one that got away with you, hm?"
"Shut up! Me and Draco are still distant friends. Thank you very much." He snapped with a blush and Albus smiled.
"Very distant."
"Hmm..."
"Tell me that story again."
"What story, baby?" He asked softly as he drove.
"With you and Draco."
"He was forced into a straight marriage, hun. We were only dating for a month anyway. Lucky he was pansexual. That man would fuck anything that walked."
Albus laughed and Harry chuckled and shook his head.
"Joking. And me being bisexual, also fell in love with your mother shortly after and you know what happens to make babies come along."
"Sex."
"Al." He rolled his eyes and Albus laughed.
"What? We both knew it! Didn't you and Draco ever...?"
"I don't want to discuss that with you." He said with a dark blush and Albus snorted.
"You so did. But... does it hurt, dad? I-I mean... one day I'll have to... but I'm nervous. Usually it's shoving into something else but this will be... probably once or twice... into me."
"Wanting to be a bottom, hey?"
"Were you?"
"Shut up!"
Albus laughed at his blush. "Sorry, dad. I just find it easier to ask you these things. You and Draco were the closeted kids at school who found each other and now times have changed I became the openly gay kid at school. I just want some help on how to make other people see it as normal."
"Act like it is, sweetheart. Don't once get embarrassed about it like you did today. It's what makes your heart happy, and whatever that is, as long as it isn't something such as murdering somebody, that's fine." He teased and Albus sniggered. "Look. You being gay will make you and somebody else's heart happy. Why should that be looked down upon, hm?"
"Yeah... thanks, dad." He muttered and Harry chuckled.
"That's fine, love."
"So?" Draco asked with a big smile as Scorpius got in the car. Silence. "Scorps?"
He turned to face him in the passenger seat. "What happened, hun?"
"It was a fail." He threw his flashcards on the floor and stomped angrily on them in the car.
"Relax. Why was it?"
"I dropped them all and wouldn't stop stuttering. Then I said how I knew he was the only other openly gay kid in our year and he told me he wasn't up for dating and shoved past me to go toilet." Scorpius huffed and faced out the window, "His friends laughed at me, dad."
"Scorps..." He didn't start the car. Instead he rubbed Scorpius' leg. "You need confidence, hun. Maybe he just got a bit awkward being put on the spot by a nervous fluff ball."
Scorpius smiled a bit.
"You really like him?"
"He's good looking and from what I heard from my friends, he's nice in class. Just quiet. And I'm quiet too!"
"Quiet? I thought he wore a leather jacket. Isn't that supposed to make him badass?"
"He's kind of like a class clown or participates a lot." He smiled a bit, "He only goes quiet when his sexuality is mentioned, dad."
"He's nervous then!"
"What? I'm supposed to be the nervous one."
Draco grinned and ruffled his hair.
"We'll practise tonight without the flashcards and you can try again tomorrow. Okay?"
"Okay."
