Pain.
That's all I could think about. My ankle, my shoulder. I felt sore all over. It was like a herd of Buffalo had trampled over me, leaving bruises and scars. That red liquid, It was used to make me fall asleep, yet it was hardly effective. As a trained warrior, I know from experience that if you struggle, you will only make your enemy dominate you, knowing you are strong. If you act weak, your enemy won't exactly bother much, unless they are smart.
Gladly, the ropes bound to my arms and legs were made of weak twine. Using a special technique I had learned from Marc, I twisted out of the ropes. Just. Like. Magic.
The room was dark, yet I could just make out the solid shapes around me. The room was just about a few meters wide, with boxes and other equipment. In front of me, there was a chair, a torture chair. I shivered at the thought of being tortured.
Focus
I told myself. There had to be an exit somewhere. Tracing my fingers along the wall, I searched for a door, or perhaps some sort of hatch to escape out of. That's when I heard something.
Footsteps
Sure, I probably should hide, but then again, I could figure out where the exit was. Quickly searching for a place to hide, I started planning my escape route. Creak. The door started to open. Luckily, I was just a few boxes away.
"Ow...." My ankle hit a box right next to me.
There was a long silence that hummed in my ears.
"Well well well. Who do we have here?"
The boxes next to me were flung across the room. I shrieked as I looked up to face my kidnapper. Surprisingly, he was actually somehow handsome. His eyes were like small scraps of silver, oddly shining in the dark. His hair was also dark, much like the room itself. I was stunned. He then grabbed my hand and forcefully pushed me into the chair. I tried to struggle, but it was no use. He was too strong. Thanks to my ankle, I was about to be tortured.
"You're kind of cute." He said, tilting his head a bit.
I scoffed.
Men
"Care to tell me your name? Mine is William." He said, tying my legs to the chair.
"No." I replied, wincing everytime he'd touch my ankle.
Then I decided to ask him a question.
"Why am I here?"
He only smiled.
"You didn't answer my question." I said, trying to act calm.
"Neither did you." He responded, staring me in the eye.
Just as I was going to protest, he pulled out what seemed to be a needle from a box nearby.
"W-what are you going to do w-with t-that?" I was starting to freak out.
He looked at me with a displeased face.
"Stab myself and take a plane to Mars"
It took me a while to notice that it was sarcasm.
A few minutes later, I caught myself staring at him. Quickly looking away, I pretended to be searching for something. He chuckled as my cheeks turned red.
"So now you have feelings for me?"
I tried my best to look angry.
"Of course not! Why would I like some idiot who decided to kidnap a girl at a party?" I started to yell at him.
He only laughed and turned my face around.
"You sure about that?" His face was suddenly inches away from mime.
"Get away." I mumbled through gritted teeth.
Ugh. Where was Niko and Marc when you needed them?
Just as he was about to close the gap between us, a loud roar erupted from the entrance of the room.
Niko!
I internally yelled out of happiness.
Ripping William off of me, Niko slowly raised him up in the air growling. Bam. He threw William across the room like a ragdoll. This time, his negative energy didn't suffocate me. I was protected by a spell Bree had enchanted on me just a few weeks ago.
Just as Niko had raised his claw, William dashed away, punching Niko in the stomach.
"No!" I yelled, trying to kick myself free.
"Jennifer!" It was Bree and Cameron.
Immediately, Bree started to untie me as Cameron went to help Niko.
"He's getting away!" I yelled, pointing my finger toward the dark figure.
"Forget it. Let him go." Cameron said, helping Niko get up.
From the looks of it, William had wounded Niko with some sort of silver knuckle.
"Niko!" I yelled, collapsing onto him.
I slowly exhaled as he wrapped his hands around me.
Cinnamon
I thought. I wanted to stay like this forever.
"Come on, we need to get out of here." Bree said, worried out of her mind.
"Are you okay?" She asked me, examining my structure.
"I can hardly walk, and I think my ankle is broken." I replied, still holding on to Niko.
As we were walking, I explained what happened and how I got there.
"I shouldn't have left you alone." Niko grunted, still half-wolf for some reason.
"It's fine. It's not like they were going to do anything to me." I replied, receiving a few nervous glances from Cameron and Bree.
"We don't really know that Jennifer. They could've done anything to you." Cameron said, raising suspense.
"Do you know his name?" Bree asked, slightly changing the subject.
"Yes, but not his last name."
"What is it?"
"William."
Everyone stared at me, eyes wide. Bree gasped."William? The William Paradia?"
I looked at them in confusion.
"What are you talking about? What's so special about him?"
Bree took in a deep breath.
"William Paradia, leader of the most dangerous group of vampires on earth. Bite is lethal to any human. Aka, my cousin"
Everyone stood still in shock.
"Did he bite you?" Niko asked through gritted teeth, looking straight into my eyes.
"No. I'm sure of it." I responded, confident.
"Let's go then," Cameron said.
"We have some interesting news to tell."
