Silently, I watch as the little gir- I begin to stir and wake up. All of a sudden, the flashback changes.
Same situation I was in before, yet the people were different. Fire everywhere, and the forest in shambles. Just a few feet in front of me was my mother, and my father. My mother was sobbing, her poor frail body in no condition to be using so much force to cry. My father was straight and rigid, staring ahead while trying to avoid the dark figure above. The person he was staring at supposedly walked forward, and began to speak.
"Like I said before, you allow my son to marry your daughter, and her life is saved."
His deep voice was vaguely familiar. Could it be William? Did he have a son? I shudderd at the thought.
"No! I will never give you my daughter!" It was my father, roughly trying to comfort my mother.
She was still sobbing, looking up and clutching my father's hand.
"Fine, then I have a better deal. My son marries your daughter, and you get to keep her until the day we meet. However, I keep the dragon that day."
For a moment they were silent, analyzing the information. My mother was silently clutching my father's hand, a tear slipping out of her eye.
After a long silence, my father finally accepted.
"Fine then, but how do we......tell her?" My father asked, his voice breaking.
"All will be arranged. I will subsitute as a grandparent, and then take the Dragon away. I will tell her I sent him away when in reality, he'll be with me. The only one allowed to see her will be you." He said, pointing to my father. My mother began to sob again, her hair frizzy and tangled up.
Again there was silence aside from my mother's choked sobs, but all was interrupted by a loud screech. I looked up, surprised to see myself in Estefano's claws. However, his eyes was glowing, like if he had been controlled. It was scary, yet truly magnificent.
Everything was too overwhelming for me. My Abuelo, who isn't really even my grandfather was William's father all along. I recall his silvery eyes and leathery skin. The resemblance was true indeed. Then I remembered little Juan. What had happened to him? Did he-
"Fine." My father had finally spoken, sealing the deal. The man smiled, his dark outline blending into the forest.
At the moment I had wanted to scream, to shout, and tell them to do otherwise, but there was nothing I could do. My fate had already been decided. Everything suddenly makes sense. Why my Abuelo just suddenly sent me away like that. Why most of my family was absent during my life.
There was something I noticed about my mom. Just like Marc, she had deep blue eyes. They were beautiful, even though she was crying. I wish there was a way I could calm her down.
I couldn't cry for some reason, making me feel even worse. The flashback changed a third time, but to a much darker place. I began to get used to the tugging feeling, like gravity was stronger, yet weaker at the same time.
I was in what seemed to be a chamber, or even cave. The walls were of a dark stone, with a similar appearance to granite. In the middle of the room was what seemed to be a large chair, possibly a throne. It was cascaded in different types of rocks and gems, mostly rubies. On both sides were two smaller thrones, empty. In the middle throne was a large silhouette, while in front on it was a person, down on one knee.
I immediately recognized him as Niko. He was looking up at the 'King'. Wait, wasn't that his father? My thoughts were silenced as he began to speak.
