Confused, William looked back at me and Marc, muttering a few more "colorful" words. Fangs etching from his mouth, he tackled Marc, releasing me. In a swift movement, Marc dodged, stunning him for a moment with a jab from his elbow. William, however, was a vampire, so it didn't take him long to catch up. Racing at each other, William jumped up, falling on top of Marc, trying to take control. Then, Marc suddenly ducked under, hitting William with his fist and rolling out of his grip. At this point, Marc had a bloody nose. All I could do was sit and stay away from the action. All of a sudden, William grabbed Marc's shoulders and pinned him on the wall. My eyes suddenly lit up.
He is trying to control Marc.
That was the first thing that came to my mind.
Jennifer. I'm fine . Just go along with the act.
My shoulders suddenly relieved, I pretended to be really scared.
"Wait.....Marc, No!" I yelled, struggling to reach the other side of the bed.
Just as William had turned around, Niko came in, full wolf. William, however, already sensed it. Both Niko and Marc attacked, trying to take advantage of the 2 on 1. Yet all of a sudden, William blocked it with some sort of force field, nearly knocking both of them off their feet. Throwing a mean left punch, William threw Niko across the room... right at the window.
"NO!" I screamed, watching his body break what was left of the window.
To my relief, Niko held on, just barely. Grabbing his hand, I helped him up from my uncomfortable position as Marc dealt with William. Then I heard an agonizing cry. I expected to see William on the ground, but no, it was instead Marc. Then my eyes went wide. A pool of blood slowly surrounded him as he held his stomach.
"M-Marc?" adrenaline suddenly pumped through my veins, causing me to jump towards him, forgetting all about my ankle.
"Marc?!" He wasn't answering.
"No... stop. Please...." I was shaking him, hoping so bad that he was still alive. He finally croaked something.
"Sorry... sis ...."
Tears flooded my eyes as I realized what he was saying. There was nothing I could do. Marc was dead and I had done nothing to stop it. I was completely useless. Lifting my arm, I looked at my bloodstained hands, enmity suddenly pushing aside the adrenaline. Power suddenly reached my hands, igniting my hands with some sort of flame. Both William and Niko were staring at me, unaware of the fact that my stepbrother, he was dead.
"You.." I said, pointing at William, hands shaking like crazy.
"You killed my step brother, and will have to pay the price."
My hands suddenly charged at him, weakening with some sort of anti- vampire power. Grabbing his sizzling skin, William looked at me carefully, still not understanding my anger. Again I attacked, but this time, I made sure to leave a mark. Many times, I punched, thinking of everything that Marc had been going through. All the times he was confused. This fueled my anger, causing me to punch harder than I have ever punched. After I was done, William was left with a bloody face, even if he did escape. I again looked back at Marc, watching tears blur my vision. Thinking back on all the times I had spent with him. The wedding, my first time in water. It was all too much. My head couldn't handle it. I collapsed on the floor, burying my head in my hands. For a moment, someone placed their arms around me. It was Niko. Still sobbing, I turned around, losing myself in his scent. For now, at least I had something I know I wouldn't lose...
