did i hear someone comment "Benimaru" because I love fighting game not-Polnareff

we're still on hiatus but we had some free time, so Ali wrote this short thing and I'm typing it lol

also maybe me and Ali should start adding where these dang characters are from to the titles, I'll get on that

"Can you tell me what beauty is, Benimaru?" you asked the man beside you, for maybe the third time. Benimaru gave a small playful sigh of exasperation and reached over to grasp your trembling hand. His blue eyes scanned over you face, over your dulled (e/c) eyes that stared off into the distance. "Beauty...? It's just like I told you, kitten.~ Beauty is something that everyone wants to gaze upon, flawless and everlasting, like the reflection of the sun on a lake.... or like yours truly."

That made you laugh, and you clutched his hand tighter. "Beautiful...Benimaru, am I beautiful?" you asked quietly, almost afraid of his answer. The blond paused, and lifted her hand to the smooth skin of his cheek, allowing her fingers to brush slowly against him and feel his smile. "Oh, [Name], you're gorgeous, more than beautiful. You're perfect....Dare I say it?...You're even more perfect than I am, babe~!"

"....Who are you and what have you done with my boyfriend?!" you joked, bringing a chuckle to his lips, before enveloping them both in a comfortable silence. 

"Um, patient [Last Name]?" A nurse popped her head through the door, a smile in her voice. "It's time for your surgery."

"N-now?" You stood shakily, your hand still clutched tightly in Benimaru's. "Oh, god, I'm not ready..."

"It's okay to be afraid, kitten.~" Benimaru's hand tightened around your own. "But, remember, I'm right here with you, by your side! You were already so brave to come this far, [Name]. After this surgery, there's an entire beautiful world out there for you to see, and then you can finally gaze upon yours truly.~"

"Y-yeah, you're right! I can't wait to finally see it, Benimaru." You smiled, and Benimaru gave a small cheer of victory and squeezed your hand again, a harmless jolt of electricity zipping between your fingers. 

"I'm so proud of you, kitten.~"
