(f/d)- Favorite food
Everyone gathered in the large dining room, taking their seats at the table as they were all ready to dig in. Link took his seat besides Zelda, looking around the room with wide blue eyes. He could tell just by walking around the castle that this royal family was nothing like Hyrule's. Looking across the table, he meet the burning eyes of the King as he glared his way causing Link to flinch and look down at the red table cloth instead.
"So Link, have you ever eaten with a royal family before?" Misty asked, leaning forward a bit so she could see the hero since she sat all the way on the other side of Zelda and (Y/n).
"No...this will be my first time," he answered, leaning a bit so he could see her yet he didn't really know who she was which (Y/n) was quick to noticed.
"Oh yeah, you two haven't meet yet. Link, this is my personal maid and best friend, Misty. Misty, this is the hero of time, Link," (Y/n) looked to the two with a kind smile.
"Its nice to finally meet you, link~" Misty chirped happily as Link nodded in agreement.
"Its nice to meet you too, Misty."
The doors to the kitchen swung opened as the chiefs entered the room while balancing silver trays in their hands. Each set the trays carefully on the table, lifting the lids to relive the lovey food they had prepared for everyone. From vegetables to meats, there were all kinds of dishes, too many for Link to even choose what he wanted eat.
Everyone made their dishes, eating respectfully as the chiefs stood on the side lines, their hands behind their backs and their noses in the sky proudly as they watched everyone enjoy the food they worked so hard to prepare.
Link finally decided to start out with some soup, taking a soup full in his mouth and humming at the taste. It was safe to say it was the best soup he had ever tasted.
"Is the food good?" (Y/n) asked, looking to him with a worried look as if she thought he won't like it yet he nodded quickly.
"Its great, (Y-I mean Princess," Link smiled, catching himself before the Queen or King could hear. (Y/n) smiled, nodding and going back to eating her own food, (f/f).
"Yes, our chiefs here are very talented, only the best," The King spoke, looking up from his food to the group with a serious look he always wore.
As they all ate, a butler walked into the room holding another silver tray in his hands. Set perfectly in the middle of the tray was a cream colored letter with black ceiling wax melted on it. He headed over to the Queen, hardly noticed by anyone else, bowing once he was at her side and holding the tray out.
The Queen set her fork and knife down, carefully wiping her mouth with a napkin (even if nothing was there) and hands before taking the letter from him; opening it.
As she read, her eyes slowly went wide as she even read it a second time to make sure what was there was real. Looking up, she meet eyes with her husband who was across the table from her, holding the letter tightly in her hands," they have accepted."
"Accepted? So soon? Why we only sent our letter a few days ago! Are you sure they have agreed?" The King's eyes were wide as he looked to his wife, the whole table going quiet as everyone looked to the two and listened to their words.
"I am quite sure. It says right here that they agree to the engagement," the Queen gave the letter to the butler as he took it, going to the King's side and giving him the letter now so he could read.
As the King read, his eyes only got wider as he looked up to the Queen with a bright smile," well this is wonderful news! I thought we'd have more trouble with getting them to agree but I suppose I was wrong!"
"What are you talking about, mother, father?" (Y/n) asked, raising an eyebrow as she looked from her mother to father, clearly as confused as everyone else in the room was.
"You see (Y/n), every Princess must be married at some point in their life. When I was around your age, I married your father and now it is your turn to be married as well," The Queen replied calmly as (Y/n)'s eyes went wide as china plates.
She stared at her mother, not knowing what to say as the words were stuck in her throat," m-married? Am I hearing you right, mother? You wish for me to be...married?"
"Well yes of course. There is a Prince that is willing to marry you and that's what the letter speaks of, please do read," the Queen snapped her figures, the butler took the letter from the King and running over to give it to the young Princess.
She looked over it, her hands shaking as she read. Zelda and Misty looked over her shoulder, frowning at the words on the paper as Link just sat there, staring at the girls with wide eyes. Was this some kind of joke the Queen and King where playing? They weren't really planning to marry there daughter without telling her until now...where they?
"Prince Alex? But I know no one of the name!" (Y/n) complaint, looking to her mother then at the paper.
"(Y/n), this is something you must do. You'll have to get married eventually I hope you know," the Queen cupped her hands and set them on the table, watching her daughter.
"I know b-but...but I wish to marry a man I know and love! Not some stranger!" (Y/n) cried as her mother put her nose in the air.
"No but's young lady."
"Father!" (Y/n) looked to the King as he shook his head.
"Your mother is right, (Y/n). This is something you must do-" He began as (Y/n) stood up out of no where, slamming her hands to the table.
"I will marry as I please and you can't make that choose for me! It does me no good to force me marry a man I don't know," she yelled as her mother glared darkly at her.
"YOU WILL DO GOOD TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT YOUNG LADY!" The Queen yelled, standing up from her seat as the whole room went completely quiet, everyone shocked at the two royals outburst," YOU WILL DO AS WE SAY AND MARRY PRINCE ALEX IN TWO MOUTHS! THE DEAL HAS ALREADY BEEN MADE AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP IT FROM HAPPENING!"
"I WON'T DO IT!" (Y/n) yelled, her voice like thunder as the lights flickered before going out, the room going complete dark as everyone screamed, looking around in fear of what just happened.
(Y/n) looked around, her hands on her heart as tears ran down her cheeks. She looked around the place as everyone stared at her. She looked to the Queen and King who meet her eyes with their burning ones. The Queen glared at her daughter as the King simply shaking his head rather disappointed.
Biting down on her lip, (Y/n) closed her eyes and spun on her heel, taking off running. She threw the dinner room doors open and ran down the halls, disappearing.
"(Y/n)!" Zelda stood up next, running after her cousin as Misty and Link followed right behind with worried expressions.
Once they all left, the Queen sighed, shaking her head,"this is for your own good...why can't you just see that...?"
