I made my way through the field behind the castle, holding the master sword in my hands as I walked through the long grass. The sky was dark almost as if it would start raining any moment now.

As I walked farther, I could see Ganondorf as he stood, his back turned to me while he was facing the sky. Right when I got to the end of the clearing, he suddenly spoke, causing me to stop in my tracks when he did," the power that Princess holds, do you know the story behind it?"

"No," I hesitated to answer, raising an eyebrow. Why must every villain make a whole speech before fighting me?! I came here to fight not have a tea party with them and listen to their problems in life!

"...Along time ago there were four demigoddesses who served the goddess, Hylia. Each sister represented something different as well. One for fire, one air, one water, and the youngest earth. The three oldest didn't do much other than pray and sing but the youngest was different. She followed the goddesses like her sisters but she had much more of a...free spirit. She went in a separate path from her sisters, leading her to the hero," Ganondorf turned, facing me as he narrowed his eyes.

"She changed destiny by falling in love with him. Not only is the hero's spirit always reborn but her's as well. She's not always a demigoddess...I've learned that over time...Some times she's the daughter of a demigoddess, sometimes she's even a Princess. I've always tried to get the power from her but ever damn time she gets away. She always out smarts me..." I realized he was now referring to (Y/n)- my (Y/n) at least -but if what he's saying is true...does that mean (Y/n) is a reborn spirit of one of the demigoddesses? Is that where she got her magic?

"Maybe because the hero always protects her," I pointed out as Ganondorf smirked, laughing a bit.

"No."

"No...?"

"The hero doesn't always protect her. I've found that there are times were she dies...in the hands of the hero even," Ganondorf drew his sword, looking at its blade carefully," not even the hero can't full protect her. But even if she dies, she finds some way to keep the power from my grasp. But this time, this time I shall have the power. This time she doesn't know how to use it nor does she even know about the story behind it thanks to her parents keeping it from her. Since that's all true, this is my chance. I shall take it from her and not you or anyone else can stop me."

I growled, running at him and swinging the sword towards him as he jumped out of the way," I will always protect her! I won't let you hurt her!"

"You seem so sure of yourself, don't you boy?" I swung at him again as he blocked it, swinging at me.

'I'm not going to give up. He can't be right. I'd never let (Y/n) die no matter what time line I'm in. I will always protect her!'

"Link!" I stopped swinging at Ganondorf, turning my head to see (Y/n). She ran towards me, her eyes wide as she had a smile on her face.

"(Y/n)!" I stepped forward, smiling myself to see her.

She ran up to me, jumping into my arms as she smiled brightly," I'm so glad your okay! Alex said Ganondorf had some horrid trick to kill you!"

"I'm fine, (Y/n). Ganondorf can't ever hurt me," I told her, smiling as she stepped back, nodding before her eyes went wide. She let out a gasp, falling forward...

My own eyes went wide as I stepped back, confused. Then I saw the blood...Ganondorf stood behind her, his sword covered in blood as he watched her fall with a smirk.

"(Y-Y/n)..." I caught her just before she fell, holding her close," (Y/n)!"

"Looks like the hero has failed to protect the girl once again..." Ganondorf stared at me as I didn't pay any mind to him.

"L-Link..." (Y/n)'s face was going pale as her eyes slowly shut. Blood covered her dress, staining it as she soon passed out.

I then panicked," (Y/n)! W-Wake up! Wake up!"

"It looks like I have won...now step aside so I can take the magic that belongs to me," Ganondorf reached down to grab (Y/n) as I quickly grabbed the master sword, cutting his hand as he jerked it away.

"Stay away from her!" I yelled as Ganondorf narrowed his eyes at me.

"You think you can save her. Look at her, she'd dead. She has died in your arms once again, it is all your fault hero," he growled, gesturing to (Y/n) as I looked from him to (Y/n).

I held her close tears running down my cheeks as I closed my eyes. In my mind, I prayed it wasn't true but it is. I thought saving her from marrying Alex would be it; she'd be safe but I was wrong! This all felt to familiar, like its happened before too...

I felt pain in my chest but it was something other than a broken heart. My eyes opened as I looked down only to see a sword...Ganondorf's sword.

My eyes were wide as I coughed only for blood to come out for my mouth. I fell backwards, trying to push my self off the ground but I couldn't find the strength to. I held my stomach, looking up. (Y/n)'s body disappeared, fading away as it was only Ganondorf and I now.

I narrowed my eyes, glaring at the evil Lord as he smirked before speaking the last words I'd ever hear..." looks like my trick worked...goodbye hero..."
