Narrator’s POV

Luke and Emily just stood by the door for a while. They were checking out the gym, seeing who was there and what people were doing; the school should really have more chaperones, if you know what I mean. A few minutes passed.

“MOVE YOU LOSERS!” A girl with blonde hair that was curled too tightly said. “Luke, sorry but why did you pick her to be your date? She isn’t even pretty.” She smirked at her comment. Emily felt the tears sting her eyes, she dropped her head. Luke got really tensed, his jaw tightened. He didn’t want to blow up in front of Emily.

“Listen here, bitch,” Luke says in a voice that was so deep, that is scared Emily and everyone that was in hearing distant, “if you ever say anything about Emily again I will ruin you!”

All the girl did was laugh. Her laugh was annoying, Luke wanted to punch her in the face, but he doesn't feel like going to jail tonight. “Do you really think I’m scared of you?”  She says while she laughs.

“My dad owns a boxing gym. He trained Ronda Rousey, the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) winner. He could get her to beat you ugly fake ass. I can’t hit you, unless I want to go to jail.”

The girl had a glossy coat to her eyes, she just ran away. Luke let go of the breathe he didn’t know he was holding in.

Emily stared at Luke in disbelief. She didn’t know if she should run away or hug Luke and never let go of him.

“Does your dad really own a boxing gym?”

“Well, no but my uncle does.” Luke looked a little bit sad. He never really talked about his dad much.

“Oh,” was all Emily could manage to say at the moment. ‘Luke is such a sweetheart.’ she thought in her head. Emily looked at Luke who was already looking at her. She brought her lips to his for a really quick kiss.

“What was that for?” He asked with a smirk on his face.

“Well, for everything that you’ve ever done for me.” She smirked back.

Luke held out his hand for Emily to take. “May I have this dance?” he said looking her straight in the eyes. He had a puppy dog look stitched to his face.

“You know I can’t say no to that face.”

“Yes!” Luke cheered, which made Emily giggle. He pushed his way through the crowds of people on the ‘dance floor’. The song Jasey Rae came on by All Time Low. One of Luke’s favorite songs. Luke started to sing, he didn’t care if anyone was listening to him or not.(no one ever heard him sing) He grabbed Emily and started to dance with her.

                                                                            Lights out,

                                                                    I still hear the rain,

These images that fill my head, Now keep my fingers from making mistakes,

Tell my voice what it takes,

                                                                       To speak up,

                                                                          Speak up,

And keep my conscience clean with I wake.

Emily stares at luke with her mouth hung wide open. She can’t believe what she is hearing. She always wanted a boyfriend that could sing, but she never thought that Luke could sing, but the sad part is that he isn’t hers.
