The two boys walked into the big, yet empty restaurant. Tyler shifted nervously, not used to the new surrounding.

"Hi! Table for two? This way!"

The cheery voice of the woman who suddenly popped up in front of the boys exclaimed. She was a red head, wearing a usual IHOP uniform.

The boys followed her, Tyler being more aware of his surroundings, his eyes scanning the entire area.

There were a few people in tables, most of them alone or obviously in deep conversations.

The whole diner was silent, besides the small conversations of other people and the old music playing throughout the whole space.

"Right here, I'll be back when your ready."

They both sat down in the small booth, Tyler taking the one on the right and Joshua taking the one on the left.

Once they were settled, all they could do was stare.

Not at each other though. Tyler was obviously too scared to do that.

"W-Why are you helping me?" the brunette finally blurted out, assuring that his voice was low.

Joshua's eyebrows furrowed, his appearance calm, but his head being a wreck.

He had no idea why he was helping him, he should know better. But he felt in control, and he hadn't felt like that in a while.

"It doesn't matter. I-I just...feel like helping you. Your safe with my Tyler."

A small smile spread across the pink lips Joshua could get used to seeing.

Tyler felt safe for once. And Joshua felt strong.

"Lets talk about stuff."

Tyler sighed at the words, because he did want to talk. He just wanted to let it out, but then again, nobody ever listened.

"W-What kind of stuff," the brunette asked, resting his chin on his palm.

"Whatever you want, you can tell me more about...just you in general. All I know is that you have crazy powers and this is your first time coming to an IHOP," Joshua exclaimed, attempting to lighten up the mood.

"O-Ok."

So he started, explaining how scary it was the first time they took him to the test room, and how his "papa," as he called him, was nice sometimes. Other times though, he would be tough, punishing him by taking him to a small metal room.

The whole time Joshua listened intently, intrigued by the brunette.

"A-And now I'm here."

The blue haired boy nodded, his curls bouncing slightly.

"That's..that's crazy,"'he exclaimed, his eyebrows furrowed as he processed the information.

"I know, that's why you shouldn't even be near me. I-If you get hurt it's gonna be my fault, I don't want to hurt more people," Tyler divulged, his voice whispery.

Joshua took a deep breath, as if he was preparing himself for the worst.

"Look, I-I know...I don't know the consequences to this..b-but I want to help."

And it was true, Joshua did want to help, though he didn't know what was to expect, he knew that something was going to happen, something other than sitting on the couch all day. And who knew, maybe this could be good.
