Chapter 11- Incongruous

"What the fuck have you done Joshua?" 

Joshua shook his head as he gently ran his hands through the brunettes hair. He was soundly asleep, curled up on the couch with a blanket now covering him.

"I don't know Brendon, but your making it way harder so far."

Brendon, one of Josh's closest friends had "passed by," or simply kept knocking until Joshua was forced to open.

"So what are you gonna do, take him to the police station? I c-"

"No!"

The outburst startled Brendon, causing his eyebrows to furrow, and causing Josh to shake his head.

"I-I'm sorry...I...I'll take him tomorrow, I promise."

But he lied, he knew it was a lie but he knew lying was the only way out.

Brendon seemed convinced though, nodding before proceeding to straighten his frame.

"Be safe, please, and call me if you need anything..."

The nervous boy nodded, his fingers now on his lap.

The friend sighed, blinking a few times before the sound of his boots became apparent, and he was walking towards the door.

"Smooth sailing buddy."

Then he was gone, leaving the now stirring brunette alone with the curly haired boy.

"Hi."

Joshua's attention was turned to Tyler, who's voice was slightly cracked, eyes squinted.

"Hey, you okay?" 

The brunette nodded, slowly sitting up.

"What time is it?" He sleepily asked, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

Josh scattered to find his phone, before answering the question.

"6 o'clock, you were asleep for a while..."

Tyler nodded , crossing his legs as silence settled in.

The seemingly nervous boy broke it though, standing up quickly as he spoke.

"Here, I-I'll put something on like a movie...if you want."

Tyler's eyelashes fluttered in curiosity, he wondered why Joshua seemed so tense.

Meanwhile Joshua felt guilty. Of course he knew he wasn't actually going to turn Tyler into the police, but he felt guilty for saying so.

"D-Do you wanna pick a movie? I-I have a few he-"

"Why so nervous?" The brunette interrupted, pushing the blanket off of himself.

Joshua sighed, shaking his head as he began to shuffle through the movies stacked under the TV.

"Nothing, I just get a little nervous sometimes, let's just watch the movie yea?"
