Joshua sighed, gripping the sides of the cardboard box in his rough hands.
He crouched down slightly, fitting the box into the large hole before stepping back, the grass crunching under his feet.
"Bye Ruby," he whispered, wiping away a small tear sliding down his face.
He looked over at Tyler, who was hanging his head low and fiddling with his own fingers.
Josh bit his lip as he clutched the handle of the shovel he had previously used to dig the hole.
He dug the tool into the soil, starting to fill in the hole that held his beloved pet.
He wiped a bead of sweat off his forehead, holding the shovel in his hand as he finished covering the box.
"Lets go," he whispered, walking back into the house.
"Lets just forget about this, yea?" The blue haired boy exclaimed, throwing the dirt filled shovel onto the dirt before entering the basement.
"Ok."
