The now cheery brunette heartily ate the food on his plate, the boys exchanging looks every few moments.

It was pleasant almost, and Tyler wouldn't have it any other way at the moment. He felt like he could trust someone, for once in his life. His teachings were being outweighed by the curly haired boy.

To most, Joshua seemed fierce, tuff, and an overall punk. But to Tyler, he seemed delicate, he wouldn't and couldn't hurt anything.

He chuckled slightly at the sight of the brunette, drowning his waffles in all the flavors of syrup available.

"You sure like soggy waffles, don't you?" Joshua questioned, a tease in his voice.

The brunette nodded, continuing to stuff his mouth.

The colorful haired boy had finished his food, along with Tyler. Though the brunette insisted on one more plate of waffles, which he was currently scarfing down.

"So have you ever eaten waffles? Because it looks like you're enjoying it."

The brunette smiled shyly, wiping the syrup off his lips with the sleeve of the black sweater Joshua had lended him.

"I-Its good," he responded, nibbling on his syrup filled bottom lip.

"I can see that."

After 1 or 2 hours of deep conversation, and waffle eating, the boys were finally headed out, Joshua's check being a total of $40 dollars due to the amount of waffles.

He didn't mind though, he realized how much he enjoyed watching the brunette smile.

The air outside seemed to have relaxed, and a nice cool breeze now filled the sunny evening.

"It's nice outside today," Joshua commented, walking besides the skinny figure.

They were headed back to the house, walking slowly, and hesitantly.

Tyler was scared, he had to admit. Any second they could jump out on him, take him back to the lab, lock him in god knows what.

But he also had to admit that Joshua's presence helped.

There was something about Joshua, that would make Tyler feel safe even though they only met a day ago.

"Take your shoes off before you go in," the curly haired boy advised, watching as the brunette stepped into the house, removing the vans that Josh had given him.

Once they were inside, with the doors locked and their feet planted on the hard wood, Tyler spoke. He spoke in a feirce, yet shaky and feared voice.

"J-Joshua I-I need you t-to promise me something," he started, making sure he was facing the slightly shorter boy.

Josh furrowed his eyebrows, his calm expression turning into a concerned one as he nodded.

The brunette sighed, his palm coming to his forehead as he took a heavy breath, stepping back and finding his way towards the couch. He sat down, his hands shaking as Joshua followed.

"I-I'm attached to you now Josh. Y-You can't leave me, I-I don't want you to. I can't be alone again a-and I know it shouldn't even be your problem, it shouldn't because it's my problem. I sound so stupid right now because I barely know you but you make me feel safe so p-pleas-"

The brunettes rambling was cut of by the warm embrace of Joshua, his arms wrapping around the frail body. Tyler hadn't noticed he was crying, but he was, so he let himself relax in the comforting arms that belonged to the punk.

He cried, until he couldn't any more, and his thoughts were replaced by unexpected sleep.
