Chapter 17

Edward's (PoV)

The moment Alice shouted STOP, I immediately looked into her thoughts to see what her vision was about.

Three figures walk through the forest. A man with dark skin, another man with pale white skin, along with a women with fiery red hair. 
They were walking towards the Cullen's baseball pitch. The dark skinned man was holding the ball that Rosalie hit into the forest.
They were moving very quickly and they all had bright red eyes.

The moment I saw it, I ran back towards Bella and Emily. I automatically went in front of both of them, ready to protect them from the three vampires that were about to reach us. I move closer to Bella as I see Jasper move over to Emily. I hold her tightly against me to make sure I don't loose her. 

"Put your hair down," I say to her in hopes it will mask her scent. Rose then walks by.

"Like that will help I can smell her from here," she says in disgust.

Jasper's PoV

The moment Alice yelled STOP, I started to read both Alice's and Edward's feelings. They were scared, concerned and guilty. I pieced the feelings together and realised that we were in trouble. I looked over at Edward who rushed over to Emily and Bella. He stood in front of both of them. When he moved closer to Bella, I sped over to Emily and held her close to me. 

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," I said repeatedly, looking her in the eyes. 

I saw a flash of fear flow through them. I sigh, knowing that she is scared and there's not much I can do to help other than stand protectively in front of her. 

Suddenly Rose and Emmett appear in front of us.

Rose's PoV

I saw Jasper panic slightly, I knew him too well and so I rushed over to him and Emily. I knew he didn't know how to mask the scent of her smell. It was extremely strong but even more so to Jasper. 
Emmett joined me as I sped over to them. I stood in front of Jasper. 

"I know a way to help mask her smell," I say to Jasper. He gives me a questioning look. 

"Do you trust me?" I ask. He nods.

I then flash in front of Emily. I indicated for her to take of her hat, scarf and jacket. As she did I took off mine and we swapped quickly. I quickly got her clothes on and let my non-human scent take over them. She put on my jacket and scarf while jasper put my hat onto her head, catching on to what I was doing. As he did he kissed her forehead. I smiled in response. They were really cute together. I sigh and walk away from them towards Edward who was with Bella. 

"Put your hair down," Edward says to Bella. I scoff at him. 

"Like that will help I can smell her from here," I say in disgust, before walking away.

Emily's PoV

After Rosalie helped me, I stood close to jasper. Everyone was stood in a line facing the forest, waiting for something to happen. I honestly had no idea what was going on, all I know was that the Cullen's felt very guilty, but I didn't know why.
