Chapter 18

Emily's PoV

"So what he's coming after me now?" Bella asks as Edward drove through the forest, going extremely fast, too fast for my liking. 

"Listen to me James is a tracker, the hunt is his obsession," Jasper states, half answering  her question. 

Edward sighs, "I read his mind and my reaction on the field set him off." 

"Just like I felt his emotions, as well," Jasper admits. 

"I just made it his most exciting game and he is never gonna stop," Edward says angrily.

"Why did he only catch Bella's scent?" I ask, slightly confused. 

"Your wearing Rosalie's clothes, they helped mask your scent," Jasper replies. 

"When I read his mind, he wasn't aware of Emily, he only caught Bella's scent," Edward says, looking back at me and Bella, checking to see if we are okay.

"What do we do?" Bella asks. I could hear the fear in her voice, she was just as afraid as I was. 

"We have to kill him, rip him apart and burn him to pieces," Jasper says, sending me and Bella a wave of calmness, as well as Edward in hopes of easing the tension in the car. 

"Where are we going?" I ask.
"Away from forks, we'll get a ferry to Vancouver-" Edward starts but is soon cut of by Bella. 

"I have to go home, we have to go home now," she shouts, pointing at me. 

"You can't go home," Edward says, "he's gonna trace your scent there, it's the first place he will look."

"He might pick up Emily's scent by that point, putting her in danger too," Jasper says, looking at me with guilt written all over his face. 

"But our dad is there," Bella begins. 

"IT DOESN'T MATTER," Edwards cuts Bella off. 

"Yes it does he could get killed because of us," Bella yells it in Edwards face. 

They stop a few minutes later and look at me. 

"What?" I ask. 

"We need to go back home to make sure James doesn't attack dad and follows us instead but if we go back Emily the tracker will catch your scent,"Bella says. 

"It's for dad, I don't mind risking my life for family," I say to Bella. I catch Jasper staring at me, hurt and disappointed that I was willing to die to save family. 

"I'm sorry jasper but it's a risk I'm willing to take," I mutter under my breath. He looks at my and gives me a hard look. 

"If we are going back to your house we are going to need a plan to lead the tracker away," Jasper says. 

"Well the easiest way I can think of is if we got our dad to believe that you broke our hearts," I say. 

They all looked at me and thought about it. 

"Seems like a good idea, though I don't really like the thought of fighting with Edward," Bella says.
