***Rose's POV***
I screamed harder as heavy tears streamed down my cheeks. My face felt heavy and my eyes felt like they were sagging.
I continued to push pressure on the purple ankle and stifle quiet moans every minute or so. Where is Chance?!
"Ow." I hissed and bit on my thumb. I tried to wiggle my toes but whenever I changed the places I was gripping on, it hurt even more.
"Oh Chance, where are you?" I pleaded under my breath.
"Looks like your husband can't save you now?"
I spun around and scowled at Blake. What the heck?!
"Get the heck away from me!" I snapped as kicked my other heel at him as he slowly approached me.
Blake grabbed my shirt sleeve on tugged upwards, lifting my body along with it. I groaned and kicked again with my other foot.
"Put me down! Chance! Chance! Hel--"
"Shut up, Rosalie." He ordered me and slammed his dirty palm against my mouth.
I bit his hand roughly and kicked him in the place where the sun doesn't shine. Blake instantly dropped me and I moaned, hoisting myself up. I limped the other way because seeing as he was down it was my chance to hurry off.
I limped into the bushes, hoping my untied laces wouldn't latch onto a thistle. I hopped through a thistle patch.
"Rose?" I looked over at and stared and Jayse. "Jayse! Help me! My ex-boyfriend is trying to mmfff--" I was cut off by another dirty palm in my mouth.
I squirmed around and stared helplessly at Jayse.
Jayse lunged forward and uppercut him in the throat. He dropped my body on the ground again and Jayse called for Chance as he scooped me up.
My vison seemed fuzzy as Jayse handed me over to Chance. He started asking me a bunch of questions, but I couldn't hear him very well.
My eyes closed and the next thing I know, I'm lying on a hospital bed with a bunch of machines attached to my face.
"What the-- huh? Where am I?" I moaned as the light blurred my sighting.
"Mrs. Stone, please relax." Someone ordered me. I moaned again and pressed a hand over my eyes. "Where am I? Where's my husband?"
The same person pressed her cold fingers against my exposed belly and began rubbing firmly against the sides. "What are you-"
"I am your nurse for now, Mrs. Stone. Mr. Stone just left a while ago to get a change of clothes. Right now, I'm checking on your twins." She informed me.
I moaned loudly as she rubbed rougher and then pressed her cold hand against both my cheeks. "You have just suffered and anxiety attack, Mrs. You have been asleep for 3 days now, what do you last remember?" The nurse questioned.
"I... I remember.... Jayse picking me up and Blake startling me..." I slurred.
The nurse smiled at me and covered my belly with a cold blanket. "Oh gosh. That's cold."
"Shh. Calm down. I'll carefully remove these." She bent over and gingerly pulled off each machine off my face. I sighed, that was a relief.
"Where's Chance? Is he coming back?!" I started to get worked up but before I could say another thing, the nurse hushed me once more.
"He'll be here shortly, right now, I'm going out to find him. Please stay right here, breathe and be calm."
I watched her exit my room slowly and as soon as she left she closed the door behind her.
I exhaled and felt around the cold mattress. Just be calm, I recalled. I decided to exhale once more before my room was flooded with chaos.
First was Chance who came running into the room, he left the door open and came up to me. He began to kiss my face rapidly and and giving strong hugs. I felt his heart beat fast and loud against my chest.
The nurse was smiling at us and was leaning at the doorframe. She looked backwards, "Family only."
"I am family!" The sound of Livia snapped back at her.
"How are you related?" The nurse questioned. "She's my son's aunt!"
The nurse moved aside and let her in. Livia had given her baby to Cade as she surround my body with her tight hugs. "Oh Rose! I was so worried! I'm so glad your okay!"
I smiled hopefully at them all and Livia scoped Layne out of Cade's arms and handed him to me.
The little baby laid so quietly in my arms and didn't squirm once. He grasped my finger and held on tightly.
"Wow." I said for the first time.
"So nurse? When can we take her home?"
"A few days seeing as her due date is in a few days."
I smiled up at Chance. He smiled back. At least Chance was here and Livia, Cade and Layne to keep me company.
