Chapter 8

(Xander's POV)

"Look at me ," she shrank away from me , I growled

I came closer to her a d she withered away from me again and it made me growl again

" Look at me ," I lifted her face and took a breath

She was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen , her face was heart shaped , her lips although pale and chapped were full perfectly pouty and kissable . Her nose was a cute adorable button and her cheekbones were semi high but hollow . Her eyes were a deep dark night blue framed by thick long lashes that when she blinked they rubbed up against her cheeks . Then she had long cascading curls of night black hair that looked so soft and silk like .

" What's your name ?" she didn't answer she just moved away from me .

I felt hurt that she wouldn't let me touch her , it's like I was a disease that she didn't want to catch

" I won't hurt you , I would never hurt you ," I reached out to touch her but she visibly paled and withered away

My heart hurt , my own mate wouldn't let me touch her , I stood my shoulders slumped it felt like the whole world was on it and my soul felt heavy .

" I would never hurt you ," then I left

Once the pack doctor told me my heart felt even heavier , I wouldn't be able to do the typical mate relationship , my mate was hurt and that made me hurt more . I felt so guilty , I wasn't there for her to protect her , and now she's petrified .

" Hey man how did it go ?" I slumped down in a chair next to mark and put my head in my hands .

" Xander ? What happened ?" I sighed

" She wouldn't even let me touch her mark . She backed away from me like I had some kind of disease , she wouldn't even look at me . It made my heart twist mark , it hurt ," my wolf Phelix was howling in sorrow and pain and it made me feel worse .

" The worst part is something happened to her someone hurt my mate that made her like this and I wasn't there to protect her ," mark put a comforting arm on my shoulder , he already has his mate and she's pregnant so he be knew how a mate could affect you , but he didn't know how it felt .

" Don't worry Xander , she'll come around it'll just take some more time than usual ," I sighed and let my fall back and I closed my eyes , I really hoped mark was right .
