Chapter 14

I just stared at that white door , I couldn't do anything else but just stare at it , I was too afraid to try to open it but I was too stubborn to try either . Then it opened and a girl came in she didn't look that much older than I did and she was pregnant , she looked about 5 months along . But to a werewolf babies develop faster so she looked about 7 months for human standards , she was pretty too and it made me feel worse . She had long waves of red hair and sun kissed skin , her lips were full and pink and her small nose slightly up turned , she had big blue green eyes with long lashes . Her body while she was still pregnant was curvy and model like she put me to shame just like Xander's mother they both made me feel ugly .

" Hi ! I'm Alyssa I'm the beta's mate , I just wanted to come say hi and introduce myself ," she smiled at me , I just stared at her like she had three heads , was she on happy pills or something ? She was way too perky and it made me feel worse .

" So how are you feeling ? Do you need anything , maybe something to eat ?" I just stared at her , she waited expectantly I swallowed , and looked away from her smile .

" Sweetie ?" I heard her come closer and it made me clear away I didn't want her to touch me , I just wanted to be left alone , I didn't deserve this kind and caring attention , why didn't they understand that ?

" Honey ?" I looked up at her , Alyssa , she said her name was. I stared at her , she gave me a soft smile , I blinked

" Hey I know ! How about I show you the gardens ? You'll like that right ? I'll get you a wheel chair !!! Oh this will be fun ," she went out of the room and I was just staring at the spot where Alyssa was and thinking 'what the hell just happened?'

" Here we go !' she actually came back with a wheel chair , she had a huge smile on her face like this was the best idea ever . I just blinked as she plopped me down in the chair before I even knew what happened , she wheeled me out of the room and I shrank in my seat my eyes darting around what looked like to be a pack infirmary . All the while I was trembling in my seat Alyssa was rambling away and going outside to the gardens . There were beautiful flowers everywhere of all different kinds and colors and a beautiful fountain with an intricate angel design.

" It's beautiful isn't it ? Xander's father designed the whole thing for his mother , she keeps it blooming , good thing she loves to garden ," she just kept rambling away but I wasn't really listening to her , I was too in tranced by the beauty of it that I didn't really care that she was talking to me .

" Here , iI'll let you have some alone time while I get you some lunch ok ?" she set me under a blooming willow tree right next to one of the fountains and it had Lilly's and snap dragons and iris's all around it , I was speechless and for once I was happy for that . The quiet was nice , just the humming of the birds and the gentle sounds of the fountains stream .
