He smiled and his eyes lit up he kissed my hand gently I flinched and took my hand away a look of hurt flashed through his eyes and his shoulders sagged I withered away from everyone I turned away trembling , Xander sighed .

" Alpha , she's still very fragile , I understand you're hurt but you can't rush things with her ," he looked deflated , I have never seen an alpha look so depressed and down on himself .

" Here we go ! Thus is my family herbal tea it'll help that raw throat of yours right up ," his mom came back with the tea , she set it down next to me and I took it hesitantly and took a sip . It was warm and the muscles in my throat relaxed and it soothed the soreness , I sighed and chugged the rest down .

" Does that feel better baby ?" I closed my eyes and nodded

" Sweetie , do you want to tell us what you were doing in our territory ? You seem like you were far away from home ," I looked down at my hands but I didn't answer , my slip of confidence was gone and now I was too terrified to speak again .

" Baby , you need to talk to us so we can help you , don't you want to be able to get better ?" I swallowed , looked away

" Sweetheart , we need to evaluate you and that means you need to tell us anything that's bothering you or anything like that ," I bit my lip and squeezed my eyes shut and withered away .

" Alpha , maybe we should try this another time she needs to rest ," his shoulders sagged and he stood his mother helped him out like he couldn't hold himself up on his own .

" Rest up honey ," I coward away into the corner , they all just sighed and left the room .

I just stared at the white door , it was my only way out ... but it made me feel even more trapped .
