Chapter 16

I sniffed but didn't let the tears stop from slithering down my cheeks and onto my bare legs , my hair covered my face like a black veil I knew it made me look haunted like a lost little girl that was swallowed by herself and was now gone . Even Xander treated me like a porcelain doll , so fragile that one wrong move I would tip over and shatter into a million pieces .

" Hey ," I shivered his heavy footsteps came closer , I curled up in on myself and let close up on myself .

" Baby ? Baby you ok ?" he gently took my chin and made me look at him and his worry shit up when he saw the tears .

" Rosie baby what's wrong ? Why as you crying ?What happened ?" he wiped the tears with his thumbs gently.

" Come on baby you can tell me , please baby talk to me ," there was so much pain in his eyes and he was pleading for me to answer , my lips trembled but I couldn't bring them to open , at my old pack whenever I tried to speak I got beaten , so I learned to never speak I haven't said a word in over 11 years .

" Rosie please ," he looked like he was about to cry , I swallowed , I tried but nothing came out he saw I was trying but I could still see the pain in his eyes.

" Come on baby you can do it I know it," I trembled and shook my head , I couldn't do it he looked crushed and his head hung almost to my lap , he fell in on myself and his forehead rested on my leg . The sparks made me shutter and close my eyes .

" I won't give up on you Rosie I can't give up on you baby I love you too much to ever let you go , I won't give up on you no matter how much it might hurt my heart ," his head was heavy on my leg and he never let go of my hands he just stayed like that , my eyes were closed and tears slowly leaked out and down my cheeks .

" I can't loose my Rosie , I just found you , I can't loose my Rosie ," he buried his head in my lap , I felt the wetness on my legs he was actually crying . I didn't know what to do I've never seen an alpha cry before so I was frozen in shock .

" I'm sorry I couldn't protect you baby I'm so sorry , I'm so sorry ," he squeezed my hands gently and kissed the scars and bruises on my legs softly.

I pulled away gently and rested it on his head hesitantly , he froze . I slowly intertwined my fingers in his silky dark thick hair and stroked it gently , he shuttered and turned his head to the side , his eyes were closed and his chest was vibrating with an affectionate rumble almost like a growl of content . My fingers glided through his hair gently going down to the nape of his neck and he shuttered .

" Please don't stop Rosie , don't leave , don't let me go please ," he sounded so broken , and I couldn't break my mates heart , I moved my hand to his cheek and stroked it softly with my thumb . His shoulders relaxed and his head sagged further into my lap and tears leaked down his face slowly . His cheek was soft but I could feel the hint of stubble on his cheek , it felt nice to touch and I stroked his tears away my eyes were watering with my own .

" I love you more than anything Rosie," his voice caught with emotion .

I rested my forehead on his and curled my arms around his neck and shoulders and just stayed like that , I didn't want to leave because for the first time in a long time , I felt safe , and it was because of Xander .
