Chapter 19 (Chad's pov)

*Friday night, the week Chloe and Alex make up*

I bite my lip hard as I nervously walk up to Kat. She had taken the daycare kids to the park near campus.

She's watching the older ones as they slide, do the seesaw, and other fun park things. In both her arms, Donnie and Terra are asleep and curled into her.

I scratch the back of my neck while clearing my throat and sit next to her. She turns her head to look at me and smiles.

"Hey, Chad," she says, gently placing the twins in their car seats.

"Hey, Kit-Kat, I mean," I say, blushing a little.

She giggles and tilts her head. "What are you doing here?" She inquires, setting her hand gently on my thigh. Sparks run through my body at high speed.

"Well, I, uh, it's just, um, I wanted to, uh," I stutter, staring into her deep sea green eyes that seem to absorb every thought and word I say and think. She watches me closely, making my body tense up in nervousness and embarrassment. I quickly stand up, causing her hand to fall from my thigh. "This was a bad idea. I'm sorry for wasting your time," I say.

She stands up and sets her hands on her slender hips. "Chad, what's wrong? I wanna know what's bothering you," she says.

I sigh. "I wanted to ask you out on a date," I say. I pull out a white rose and hold it out to her. "You don't have to come if you don't want to."

A beautiful smile adorns her face. "I'd love to go out with you."

I look at her. "You would?" I ask, shocked.

She giggles. "Of course. Why would I pass up going on a date with a bad boy?"

I blush a little and look at my feet. "I'm not a bad boy."

Kat giggles again. "Yeah, and I'm not the hottest girl in school."

I shake my head chuckling. "Ok, meet me here at 6 o'clock tonight."

"Ok," Kat says, watching me.

I smile and start walking away. 'Oh, god, I hope she accepts my promposal,' I think to myself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~ *6 o'clock p.m.*
I glance around to make sure everything is in perfect condition. Everything has to be perfect for her. For Kat, the most perfect girl ever.
The park sidewalk is lightly sprinkled with white and red rose petals. The sidewalk runs through a patch of quiet trees to the dock on the lake. The trees have white fairy lights strung through them. The dock has a boat for two by it. By the lake in the grass, a nice picnic is set out with some candles around it.
The Clan helped me get all this set up. I'm so thankful they are here to help me. They are set up with a camera and are going to record this entire night for me to remember.
I nervously rub my arm. I glance down at my watch. 6:07 p.m. I glance over at Alex, who is hanging upside down as a bat from a branch. I glance down at my outfit to make sure it still looks good.
A gray dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to my elbows, black dress pants and shoes. My hair is still messy because I couldn't tame it. I still look pretty good.
"Ch-Chad?" I hear Kat's tentative voice call out.
"Over here!" I call back. I hear soft clicking of heels against concrete. I look up and am stunned into silence by her beauty.
