**Chloe's pov**
I'm standing in line with the other cheerleaders, getting yelled at by Alison, our cheer captain. Alex, Simon, and the Clan (minus Dave) are playing football on the field.
"Bitch! Are you paying attention?!" Alison screams, getting up in my face.
I lift my chin. "Excuse me? Did I hear you right? Did you call me a bitch?" I ask, glaring at her.
"Yeah, I did. Got a problem?" She sneers.
"Yeah, I do. Let's have a cheer off. Right here, right now," I suggest, setting my hands on my hips. The other cheerleaders take a step back. "Let's see who the cheer captain should be."
Alison rolls her eyes and flips her hair. "Well, that's obviously gonna be me, since you're just a fat pig who will crush the people who hold you up."
I look over at Alex, seeing his eyes blazing with an angry fire. Chad notices and nods to me. He sets his hand on Alex's shoulder and says something to him, successfully diverting his attention away. I return my gaze to Alison.
"Let's cheer, then. You first."
I go and stand next to the other cheerleaders, crossing my arms and observing Alison as she stumbles through our most recent cheer.
Once she's done with it, she smirks at me as if I won't be able to do better. I roll my eyes and head to where she previously was. She purposefully rams her shoulder into mine, and in turn, I yank her hair and smirk inwardly.
I hear Alex whistle at me. "You got this, Angelfish!" He yells. I smile, feeling a small boost of confidence.
I stand in the beginning position and look at the girls.
They are counting on me to win this so we don't get yelled at by Alison anymore. I can't lose. I won't.
I begin the routine, doing much better than Alison's wobbling attempt. I hear the guys from the football team whistling as I do the entire routine flawlessly.
Hey, just because I'm unattractive doesn't mean I'm not good at at least doing amazing at cheerleading.
Once I've finished, the girls clap and run to me.
"You're the winner!" They scream in excitement. I laugh at their enthusiasm.
"No!" Alison screams. "I'm the winner!" She stamps her foot like a 3 year old.
I roll my eyes.
"Temper tantrums are so unattractive," I hear Alex say as he wraps his arm around my waist. "And to think you had a smoldering chance in Hell to be with me." He throws his head back and laughs.
Alison drops the angered look on her face and replaces it with a look of trembling sadness. "How could you be so mean? You were supposed to be my mate! It should have been me and not her!" She cries. She turns on her heels and runs towards the locker room, sobbing into her hands. Her groupies follow her, trying to calm her.
Alex frowns after her. "She shouldn't complain. I mean, it's not like I forced her to like me. I never did anything to make her like me."
I stroke his cheek. "It's because you're just too damn hot for your own good. I'm gonna have to punish you for letting other girls look at you," I say, patting his cheek.
"You know the only girl who sees me naked is you, babe," he says, with a smirk.
I blush a little, hearing the girls giggle. "Alex," I whine, "don't say stuff like that out loud!"
He chuckles at me and kisses my temple. "I'm gonna go take a smoke break, I'll be by the exit if you need me," he says. He smacks my ass and walks away, a smirk adorning his lips.
I squeak and cover my ass, glaring at his back. "I'm going to kill you!" I yell after him. "You little son of a bitch," I mumble.
