Chapter 25 (Kat's POV)
**The morning of Halloween**
I wake up in bed and sit up with a smile on my face, the sun's rays of light shining onto my face through my partially opened curtains.
Not.
I jump out of bed and run into the bathroom, heaving into my toilet.
Morning sickness. I hate it so much. Since Chloe and I are pregnant, we've been dealing with this together.
I wipe my mouth with a moist towelette and throw it into the trash can beside the toilet. I then heave myself up off the ground and shut the toilet lid and flush my dinner. I go to the sink and look at my face.
I have bags under my eyes, my hair is matted to my head. My eyes are dull and tired. I have sweat running down my temples. I look terrible.
I groan and peel my pajamas off my body. I turn the shower on and then head to my dresser to grab some clothes for the day.
It's Halloween, plus my birthday.
Once I've grabbed my clothes, I glance at the clock on my nightstand to see it's 6:49 a.m. I scoop my phone up from my nightstand and send a quick "happy bday" message to my siblings, then I hop into the shower.
I let the warm water roll over my body, relaxing my tense body. I run my hands over my baby bump, seeing if my little bundle of joy is awake. I feel a small hand press against my own.
"Awwwwe!" I can't suppress the exclaim of excitement I feel when my baby touches my hand.
Chad was so excited when I told him I was carrying his baby. I'm glad I'm going to be having his child. It's an exciting moment for me because I really like how sweet and gentle Chad is towards me.
I turn my face to the water and let it roll down my body. I sigh, grabbing my shampoo and squirting some into my hand. I work the strawberry smelling soap into my scalp, closing my eyes and relaxing slowly. I rinse the shampoo out of my hair, then apply my raspberry scented conditioner to my hair.
I faintly hear the sound of my door opening and closing. I let out a tired yawn and grab my body wash.
I hope today doesn't go horribly wrong. I'd hate that a lot. I know I'm probably worrying over nothing, but today is my 18th birthday. Today is supposed to b a good day, like a Sweet 16 party, or a quinceanera.
Suddenly, the curtain to my shower is thrown aside. I let out a small shriek, throwing the bottle of soap in fear.
"Ow!" A deep voice growls after the bottle makes contact with the intruder.
I yank the shower curtain closed and hold it to myself as I peek out from behind it.
"Zack?" I question in shock. "What in my mother's name are you of all people doing here?!"
He rubs his forehead, where a giant red mark is now beginning to form. He totally deserves that.
"I was trying to find Chloe to wish her a happy birthday," he grumbles.
I smack my forehead, letting out a heavy sigh. "Leave it to you to think it's a good idea to throw aside a shower curtain in the middle of a woman's shower. A pregnant one at that. But you don't much care about females and their hearts, do you?" I ask, giving him a solid glare.
He sighs, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "I didn't mean to hurt her. It was against my own will." He looks up at me and stares into my eyes. "Please believe me when I say that I've been under Alison's spell ever since I've met you and your family."
