Chapter 20

Chapter 20 (Alex's pov)

Sitting up in the trees, I watch Chad try and make a good date with Kat. It's cute watching them. Her curled up to him, him being all weird and Chad-like.

The whole Clan has known he likes her since he first laid eyes on her. He made all of us swear not to go out with her until he knew if she was his mate or not.

We all made fun of him for not having laid her yet. He kept telling us "She's not ready, so I won't force her." We kept calling him a p****. He has "morals". He's part of the Clan, a band of ruthless killers, bad boys, and hard hearts.

Well, we used to be anyways. Before our mates came along. Joey and Bobby still hold true to the hard hearts part.

Poor Jo. He's gonna be the last guy laid. He hasn't even found his mate yet.

Anyways...

We're recording this so he can remember this night forever.

Kat leans forward, places her hands on Chad's thighs, then kisses him.

The boys and I cheer for him.

Kat glances over at us and flashes a beautiful smile. Then, she straddles Chad's lap, wraps her arms around his neck, and proceeds to kiss the life out of him.

"Ah, yeah! Way to go, bro!" Dustin yells.

"Whip dat @$$!" Bobby calls.

"Get her body trembling for you, dude!" I yell.

We continue yelling encouraging words at them. Finally, once we've calmed down enough, we go back to being quiet. Joey watches them intently.

Chad helps Kat up and they walk slowly to the boat, hand in hand. Kat rests her head on his shoulder.

I look around at my brethren. We've been waiting for Chad to find his mate for forever. He's needed her since he came to my house wen he was 8 years old.

Glancing back at Chad, I see him and Kat talking. What they are talking about is beyond me.

Kat leans in towards Chad and presses her lips to his. He wraps his arms around her small frame, pulling her close. I squint trying to see what's going on fully.

"Ooooo, I think he's finally gonna mate with her!" I hear Dave say.

"Yes! Now we can have little Chads and Kats running around!" Dustin says, excitedly.

I turn to the Clan. "Well, let's leave them to it then, shall we?" I ask, turning off the camera.

We drop from the trees silently and gracefully. Everyone heads towards campus. I hang back and see that Kat and Chad are back to sitting together, talking.

I watch them for a moment, then I notice that Chad glances at me. I look behind the trees and find a remote, which I pick up. I press the big red button in the middle of it.

Up in the sky, fireworks pop and boom, showing a beautiful array of colors. I watch as Kat looks up at them. Across the sky is "Prom?"

I smile as Kat kisses Chad roughly on the mouth. I chuckle and begin to walk backwards.

My eyes pop wide open when I see Kat's head drop down to Chad's pants. I gasp in shock and trip over a tree root.

I call to the other guys. "Guys! Come quick!" They come running and we watch in awed silence as Chad has the time of his life with Kat.

After about 20 minutes, they come rowing back. Chad pulls Kat along quickly, like he has some urgent business to take care of.

We chuckle, knowing exactly what's going to happen now. We head back to our cars, heading back to the hell hole of a school that holds our mates.
