The sun was bright, the sky was clear and the noise from outside her bedroom window was cheerful. Children running around the streets, clothes without any holes and finely made. The grey stone of the buildings making the colourful curtains stand out more.

Adrianne knew today was going to be the beginning of her successful career as a Doiteain Warrior, even if her end goal has been the same since she was ten. To the marry the only surviving member of the Neci family; Sheikh. He was the most mysteries person in their year, always standing in a corner with his arms crossed. His eyes having a glazed over look, like his mind wasn't with them.

While most of the others were what you see is what you get, along with some of the females. No one knew what Sheikh was thinking, not even students who came from families that were famous for reading faces!

"My prince," Adrianne said as she twirled a lock of brown hair between her fingers. Her cheeks starting to go pink at the thought of dark hair and eyes, eyes that turned hazel in the sunlight. "My perfect Warrior Prince."

"Adrianne," Mama called from the dinning room, making her hands pause over a paid of diamond studs. Anything larger then a stud came with the risk of someone pulling it out of your ear, along with most of your ear. "Breakfast is ready."

"Yes Mama," Adrianne called back, putting her studs in and making sure her hairties weren't going to fall out of her hair and leave it a mess. "I'll be done in a minute."

"Breakfast might get cold!" Papa called amusement clear in his voice, she could see him smile while Mama rolled her eyes at him, she knew her marriage with Sheikh would be like her parents. She could feel it in her heart. "But more for me!"

"Adrianne," Elodie said as she leaned against the door frame, her brown hair was cut into a bob. Dark green eyes frame by her bangs, lips pulled into a frown. "Remember, things are rarely as they seem, things that seem easy are hard. Things that seem hard are easy, even those you think are shallow will have more depth to them."

"Yes big sister," she told her while rolling her eyes. Elodie was pulling her away from their parents, slowly, but she was pulling away from everything that the Haruka family believed.

Such as pulling out of the family business, opening her own clothing store that left her working for hours as she made clothing for her customers. She loved it, personally, since she got her own clothes for cheaper.

"See you tonight, Adrianne," Elodie said as she removed herself from the room. Her fingers covered in tiny scars from pricking herself with a needle, along with the bruises along her arms from knocking them into things. Elodie was clumsy, which was why she would never be a Warrior.

Getting up, she pulled her leather knee high boots over navy woollen stockings. Making sure her wrist wasn't covered by anything, she was getting her badge and bracelet today.

"My baby girl," Papa told her, a smile on his face as green eyes shined with pride. Laughter leaving his lips as he pulled her into a hug, grey starting at his temples. "Graduation today."

"Papa, you know I'll be with a Mage," Adrianne told him, she knew his views of Mages. Hated them since a Wind Mage killed his family as a child, Gaoth's mark on their metal bracelet.

That they slowed down the rest of the team, they couldn't fight and needed to cheat to get anything done. Yes, Adrianne knew their seal work was important, along their healing magic. Her parents thought it was better if they just stayed in the village and looked after it, insist of trying to prove their worth on the battlefield. Where most of them just ended up dead.

"You'll have an elite for a teacher. One of the villages best," he told her, patting her arms as he passed her a bowel. Elodie sitting across from her with a frown on her face. "They'll be able to be the waste of space out of the way."
