Dania looked like a child who had been told that they couldn't have dessert before dinner. She had been fuming before Kyoko arrived at Ruby's apartment, while Dania was like a sister to her, she would admit that her sister was childish.
"What's wrong with her?" Kyoko asked Ruby as she walked into her kitchen. Grabbing Ruby's teapot and cups. Her older sister smiling as she picked up a tray of sweet biscuits and tarts in front from the counter.
Now it wasn't odd for Dania to mad at someone, since she was Talia's guard and had to listen to most of her counsel meetings. That would drive most people with hot tempers over the edge, more so when they couldn't punch the person who was pissing them off.
She had seen her after someone attacked a nearby village, it wasn't a pretty sight and she had to use the little bit of healing magic she knew to stop her knuckles bleeding. Something she didn't want Dominic or Zack to see.
She didn't think anyone would be forgetting about Feach-Nios-Mo anytime soon, even if it happened four years ago, at least she hoped they didn't. Feach-Nios-Mo was now known as the Village of Hunted Tears.
"I can hear you," Diana told her.
"She can't catch someone," Ruby told her placing her tray down before sitting in front of Diana, Kyoko soon joining her as she placed the tea pot in the middle of the table. Cups placed in of everyone.
"Can't catch someone?" Kyoko asked that hadn't bothered her in the past. It was part of the process of catching someone, she also didn't know how long Diana had been looking for this person.
"She's been humming," Ruby told her.
"That fucking Lullaby Freak!"Diana swore, her fists clenching above her knees.
"How long have you been searching for this freak?" Kyoko asked, green tea being poured into Ruby's cup. She was ill in the mornings, neither of them knew why. Ruby had told her that she was going a doctor soon.
"We've known about her for a week," Diana admitted a flask from her pocket. A dark rum being poured into her cup, along with picking up a tart. "It's her damn song I can't stand. It's driving everyone up the wall!"
"She's fast, give it more time." Kyoko blinked when she remembered that Diana didn't know that she was a would-be Hunter, having already earned a nickname among Missing Soldiers, the Bloody Maiden. If she didn't say anything, Diana would question her and she'd going to get a lecture of a lifetime. "Or at least that's what the rumours say."
"You would run into some of them," Ruby agreed nodding her head. "Some your hunts would be around some of the nearby villages."
Lullaby Freak, Kyoko thought to herself thinking back on the woman hunting red eyes, along her stranger actions. She was just glad that she didn't want her dead or severely injured. If she did, then there wouldn't have been anything she could done about it, the woman had her hands around neck.
It was a simple fact when an adult is fighting against a child, a trained adult at that. It was near impossible for the child to win the fact in a straight up fight. Most underestimated how much the element of surprise tipped the scale in a fight.
Which was how she took down most of her hunts. Never letting them know she was there until she had them pinned, unnerving them with thick blankets of fog and mist. Leaving them thrown off enough that it was easy to tie down their limbs tightly enough that they weren't going to move.
All she need someone to do was slip up, have a moment of hesitation and she would end them before they had time to think about their actions. Or even to blink at times.
