*Flashback*
"The house will be so empty without my Victor" my mom said as she made my bed.

"Ma, I can make my own bed, don't worry" I said, placing a box of clothes on the floor.

"I can't believe they let you bring your fish" Mike said as he stared into the tank.

"I didn't ask if I could bring them or not" I said, simply.
They knew I wasn't going to part with the fish.
If no one said anything when I was bringing the tank up here, I think I'm fine.

My dad looked at wide eyed, my mom just laughed.

"My Victor loves his fish" she laughed, putting her hand on my back.

"I hope your roommate doesn't mind" Mike said as he looked at the empty bed.
My roommate hasn't arrived yet, but I'm nervous.

What if he hates me?
What if he's like Craig?
What if he is Craig?

Craig got accepted, but I think I saw his car in the parking lot, so hopefully he isn't my roommate.

"He'll be fine, they're on my part of the room" I said, pretending that I didn't care.
If the roommate doesn't like the fact that I have fish he could report me, and I'm not sure if it's allowed or not.

"Where do you keep frozen worms here?" My mom asked.
She always hated the frozen worm and shrimp cubes that I stored in her freezer.

"I'll keep them in a container in the freezer, no one will see that it's frozen worms" I said, already planning it all out.

"I wish you had done that at home" my mom mumbled, walking by me.

My dad chuckled and handed me a drugstore bag he had been carrying around, I looked at what was inside and before I even realized what it was he said "just in case"
It was a box of condoms.

I felt my face getting a little red.
I know my dad is just trying to make sure I'm prepared,  but it just made me uncomfortable.

"Yes! Always wear a condom" my mom said, louder than I would like her to.
"Even if that someone is not a girl" she winked at me.

I haven't told my mom anything, but I'm pretty sure she knows I'm gay.
Am I gay?
I don't like anyone, but I've never been into girls.
What Craig did to me, ruined liking anyone else, really.

My dad rolled his eyes but agreed, smiling.

My mom started unpacking my clothes.
"Ma, I can do that too" I laughed, kicking the box away from her.

Mike chuckled and plugged the fish tank in, letting the tank light up again.

"I guess we better go" my dad said in a neutral tone, my mother looked at me with sad eyes.

"Don't worry, Ma, I'm not that far away. I'll come home on the weekends and holidays and we can go for lunch and dinner and we can do whatever you'd like" I said, trying to comfort my mom. My mother smiled at me and pulled me into a tight hug.

"Just promise me that, Vic" she said into my chest.
"I love you, my son" she said finally.

"I love you, Ma" I said, kissing her head.
"And I love you, Papa" I said as my father hugged us both.
"And you Mike!" I said, motioning for him to hug us as well.

I will miss my family.

We hugged for a good few minutes before we finally separated "I'll walk you down" I said, opening the door for my family.

Once my mother and father were out of the door, Mike stood beside me for a moment before reaching out to me. When he did, I noticed something in his hand.
