Chapter 6

     Finally, Wednesday has found me. School was short and easy today because all the teachers are taking off as well as not leaving homework. I am beyond excited for tomorrow now. I was looking forward to seeing Draven when I got off the bus but he wasn’t there or at the house. I walked in an abandon house with a note on the kitchen table. “Klarissa, Jamie and I are spending a couple nights in Stonewall for our anniversary. Money is in safe, love your mom and dad.” I smiled at myself saying, “Oh how I love when they just up and leave me!” At the moment there was a knock on the door. “Hey Darling?” “Come in…” I waited until the door was shut. “If you knock again asking if you can come in then I am going to say no.” I started laughing at him. I showed him the note my parents left me. “I am home by myself for several nights.” Draven looked at the ground trying to hide his biggest grin on his face whenever he looked at me. “Can I stay a few nights with you then?” I opened my mouth to say something but then just shut. “Sure I mean. Just don’t let my parents.” He put his hand over my mouth saying shh. “No will find out.” Draven smiled at me before running to his house to pack some clothes. I was fixing dinner whenever he came over. After dinner I jumped in the shower then slipping on my blue pjs bottoms and my purple tie-dye shirt. I was brushing my teeth whenever I heard something break so I took off for my room while Draven is behind me. When we checked my room there was none thing wrong with it so we let it be. I walked back into my room after finishing getting ready for bed whenever Draven came in behind me. “Are you already ready for bed?” “Yeah, I have school tomorrow remember?” He chuckled at me. “I don’t exist at school remember?” We both laughed about his little joke before we started talking again. “Why don’t you go to school?” “I have my reasons,” “I want to know those reasons.” Before answering me he searched my hand until he saw the ring on there. “Do you ever take that off?” “No. Anyways back on topic. Why won’t you tell me? It is not going to kill me.” “No, because it will bite you.” He laughed at me while I smacked him on the arm. He smacked me back playfully then out of nowhere he picked me up so we both fell on the bed. We smiled at each other trying not to laugh to hard. As we laid down in bed I curled right up to him as he held onto me. I was fast asleep before I could hear him tell me goodnight.

        I woke up to an alarm clock saying “WAKE UP!” I looked next to me to see Draven still asleep. I tried waking him up but he wouldn’t stir. So I left him in bed writing him a note before leaving for school. I practically ran off the bus jumping into Draven’s arms whenever I saw him waiting for me. We walked home talking. “How was your day beautiful?” “Alright, just happy to have a week off from school.” “How about your day?” Draven smiled at me. “It was boring without you.” I playfully punched him in the arm before he started chasing me to the house. While I am getting the items to be cooked Draven went off to finish something. I had on my black skinned tight pants with my purple tie-dye shirt on. I was waiting for him to come home so I could fix dinner but it was almost eleven. I grabbed my pink fennel shoes with my black jacket heading out the door. I headed for the woods even though he warned me not to go in here at night. I want answers I thought. I touched one of the tree’s bark feeling a powerful connection to it. I thought he has been here. The moon hid behind the clouds while I looked around for anyone who could be watching. My breathing deepen a little since I was wondering what would happen if he were to find me. I started walking forward even though my body didn’t want to go, but my feet went on. Before I knew it I was well within the deep forest. I stood still only for a moment closing my eyes, letting the wind push me back. I was ready to start walking again until I heard something. I tried looking around but with it being dark it was really hard to see. Growling came from behind me causing me to turn pale white. This is it I thought. I slowly turned my head to see what it was. There a white wolf crouched to the ground getting ready to launch at me stood. I took off running not wasting any of my valuable time. I was so hoping it would run after something else. No, it was running for me. I kept running as fast as I could without tripping and letting tree branches smack me in the face a couple of times. Suddenly without paying any attention I tripped over a tree branch. I landed on my stomach but turned around trying to crawl backwards away. I saw the wolf stare me down in the eyes as I whimpered for my life. I screamed as it launched forward to eat my face off until I heard a yelp. I watch a black wolf come out of nowhere attacking the white wolf. I scrambled to my feet whenever I pushed into a girl. Her caring voice told me she is not going to kill me, “Are you okay?” I just looked at her like she was stupid. “Answer me! Are you okay?” “Yeah I am fine. Other than almost getting my face eaten off. Why are you even out here!? We have to go before those two things decide to eat us!” I started to run before I heard the girl say, “OH! You don’t know?” I stared at her confused. “Know what?” As I am trying to understand two more people showed up behind her. I was so confused, scared, and worried that I just now noticed blood running down my leg. “Elizabeth, what happened?” “Oh, Bobby, Klarissa don’t know and Travis tried to eat her face off.” I gave her what the hell look. “That wolf has a name? Travis is that thing’s name?” They both looked at me with odd expressions. Bobby looked at Elizabeth, “We will discuss this later. Right now you two take her to the house. Get her cleaned up. I am going after Travis and Draven.” I stared at him with my mouth wide open in disbelief. Then I thought back to when he said the truth might bite. I whispered, “He is in so much trouble.” The two girls looked away when I said that carrying me to their house. They cleaned me up only to find it was a minor cut above my patella then they took me back to my house. After they left the kitchen I saw Draven walking over with shorts on. I tried every possible way not to blurt out at him whenever he came in. Although when he came in he was pissed. “KLARISSA!” “In the kitchen.” He came storming in. “Klarissa, I told you not to go into those woods. Why?” “Yes you told me. You left in which I haven’t heard from you. Curiosity got the best of me.” Draven clutched his fists. “I told you I would be back. You need to stop following me, and do not disobey that order.” “First off I did not follow you, second of all you do not boss me, and third if you was my boyfriend, wait true boyfriend you would have told me.” “I wasn’t going to tell you now. I was planning on showing you at camp.” “Well you could have told your friends since they didn’t know that I didn’t know.” His fists were bulging with veins while he clutched then tightly. “I don’t have to tell you any of my business but I do to a point. Stay out of the woods or things will bite you. Remember that?” “In fact I do!” Draven drew his fist back punching the wall leaving a dent in it. I glanced at his hand in which it was not even red from punch the wall. “Just stay away from me…” I stood there after he ran out the door slamming it. His words jarred me pretty hard. A few tears fell from my face since I was so upset and lost. My body pushed me to go to bed for some rest only I laid there tossing and turning. I was lying down around one this morning only it is now four in the morning. I got out of bed walking to the bathroom washing my face off. When I stepped out I saw Draven heading toward the house so I went downstairs. I reached the bottom whenever Draven came in and I started to walk back up until I felt hands grab mine. I stopped to look at him, “What,” “I am sorry.” “Save it. I am going to bed. Sleep in your house not mine.” I went into my room waiting to see if he would come after me but I heard the door open and slam again. I laid down falling asleep only it was little bit of a rough patch.
