The bright rays of the sun woke me up this morning. I looked over to see Draven still asleep. I rolled out of bed putting on a black tee with my blue jeans. I walked downstairs to start cooking breakfast made up of eggs, bacon, and other items I found. Draven came down the stairs yawning then come up behind me hugging me. “Good morning baby. Something sure does smell good in here.” “It’s ready!” “For me?” “Why yes!” I set the food down on the table while we sat eating until everyone else was getting up. “Where is your ring beautiful?” “Crap! I forgot to put it back on after the shower I took last night.” “Oh. You mean right here in my pocket?” I laughed at him while he slipped the ring on my hand. “Is it good?” “Hell yeah!” We finished with cleaning the kitchen then ran up stair getting dressed to go riding. I slipped on a black hoodie with hiking boots while Draven went to get the cameo ter-x. I grabbed his black hoodie he had on the bed before walking outside. I handed to him while I fastened my seatbelt for the adventurous ride. After he drove past the lake we came upon some old four wheeler paths. “Choose one!” I picked the one in the middle as he sped by an old abandon building then down a small hill splashing muddy water before hitting the woods. As we were driving I spotted an old untouched trail so I hollered, “GET ON THAT TRAIL!” I pointed to what I screaming about until he jerked the wheel toward the trail. He started driving slow whenever he came to a little creek then blasted through slinging water everywhere. “Draven!” We both busted out laughing before he said, “A little mud don’t ever hurt anybody!” I giggled, “What if they’re a princess?” “Well tough luck.” Soon we came upon a straight stretch with something in the road. “Do you see that?” I said with him slowing down. “Yes…Klarissa,” His eyes started to bulge out of his head. “Do not scream.” He stopped the ter-x as I peaked over the dash. What laid in the path was terrible as I covered my mouth to keep from screaming. I kept my eyes at the sight of the dead lifeless what was left of a human body. He started to turn the ter-x around so I couldn’t look at the body anymore. I thought to myself was it killed while hunting? Or was it killed by fear of something? I really didn’t want to know the answer to this unreal thing. He stopped the four wheeler getting out to look at the body. When he came back sitting down at the seat he whispered, “It was an animal.” He started the four wheeler going to the path we came from. His hand held mine while tears stained my face. He was driving pretty fast to get us out in case the animal was still out there and to warn the others. The world to me seemed to be a mile long ahead of me. I listened for the woods to whisper its secret even though they were being exposed. All I could hear was the loud rumble of the ter-x until I hear something. Something that was unfamiliar while Draven started to drive a little faster as the cabin came into place. I could see some of the guys playing cards on a table until they looked our way. They transformed into wolves running our direction only passing us by. He stopped the ter-x a little ways from the house while getting out, “Run in the house telling everyone to get out here! Go to my room and stay put!” He transformed into a wolf while I ran in the house hollering. I slammed Draven’s door locking it then running to the bathroom. I sat down on the floor by the toilet thinking of what I had seen. Without much warning I puked up everything I had eaten. After throwing up several times I crawled back to bed laying there crying. I had the image of a half-eaten, decapitated head, and blood bathed bloody laid. His other half was ripped in places with blood everywhere. I cried and cried wanting that image out of my head until I had fallen asleep.
I woke a couple hours later walking downstairs to see if everyone was back. Before I made it to the bottom I could hear Draven and Bobby talking so I stopped. “Draven, do not worry about Klarissa. She didn’t make eye contact with it. So everyone can calm down and go back to what you were doing.” Everyone went back to what they were doing while I ran back to the room to take some meds. My head was throbbing from throwing up, crying, and falling asleep. I thought I could have helped but I am not a wolf so I best keep my wet paws out of it. I got in the showering standing there to let the hot water rain drops bounce off my skin. I could hear the bathroom door open while I peeked out the shower curtain to see Draven sitting on a chair. I was still in the shower for a long time after Draven had let from checking in on me. I put on my pink thong with his old t-shirt then walked into his room. I had just sat down in the bed whenever he came in with dinner and some meds. He sat the plates down handing me some meds first. “Thank you,” I whispered. “You’re welcome baby. I figured you would need some since you threw up earlier.” “How did you know?” I gulped the meds down before starting dinner. “I would have done same thing besides when you imprint on someone you just know some things.” “Hey how did the other guys turn into wolves without you saying anything?” “Well we can communicate through our heads letting everyone know what is going on. The alpha is the only one who can be in everyone’s head at the same time.” I didn’t talk very much after I said what I wanted to know.
Draven slipped my shirt off laying me on top of him to keep me warm and so I could cry again. I woke up a few times with nightmares, but Draven was right there awake with me. After the last few times of trying to sleep he wrapped his arms around me singing to me softly. The tune I have always hummed when cleaning whispered around my head as my eyes closed without a problem for the rest of the night.
