The week with Scarlett had flown by faster than I even thought possible. 'I don't wanna go home.' Scarlett demanded as I helped her get ready to go back to her mum's. 'You'll be back next week.' I said trying to calm her down. After making plans to ease her mind about leaving, we finally went downstairs where Simon was waiting. 'Tell Adele bye while I put your stuff in the car.' He told her grabbing her bags from me. She through her arms around my legs, 'bye Adele, I already miss you.' She said following Simon out of the front door. 'Bye, sweet girl. See you soon.' A wave of unexpected sadness washed over me as I watched Simon pull out of the drive away. Nothing prepared me for how attached I was going to became to Scarlett in just a week. None of my other boyfriends had kids so this whole experience was brand new to me. I walked into the living to watch some tv until Simon got back and when I went to sit on the sofa I felt something sharp poking into my back. I reached behind me and discovered I had accidentally sat on one of Scarlett's toys.

'Hello.' Laura said answering the phone. 'Do you and Daniel want to come over for dinner tonight?' I bluntly asked. 'We would love too.' She responded. 'How did meeting his daughter go?' I grabbed the bottle of wine from the counter and took a big gulp. 'Laur, I'm so attached to that little girl it's crazy. Could you ever picture me being like this towards a child? I defiantly couldn't.' I said. 'Wow, I'm surprised. You've always been good around them I just never thought you would want any until you were much, much older.' Laura responded surprised at how I was feeling towards Scarlett. 'I honestly can't believe my life, Laura. 'It's a complete 180 of a month ago.' I said tearing up just thinking about everything that had happened in such a short amount of time. 'Well, I'm proud of you baby girl and I can't wait to meet Scarlett soon. See you around 7 tonight.'

'Babe, I bought you something.' Simon said coming through the front door. I met him the foyer where he was standing with a giant bouquet of blue and pink hydrangeas and a dachshund puppy. 'What's all this?' I asked taking the puppy from his arms. 'Just wanted to say I love you and how much I appreciate you being so welcoming to Scarlett.' I leaned towards him and passionately kissed his lips. 'Plus I figured we'd start with a puppy before you get pregnant.' He laughed taking the flowers into the kitchen to put into a vase. 'So you plan on getting me pregnant soon?' I joked walking behind him while gently petting our new dog. 'It's bound to happen with all this sex we're having.' He responded giving me a wink. I rolled my eyes and put the dog on the floor. 'What are we going to name him?' I asked Simon. 'I think you should choose.' I thought for a moment, 'I like Jack.' Simon smiled and leaned down to pick Jack up. 'Perfect. Jack Konecki, the magnificent dog.'

After getting ready, Simon and I took Jack to the pet store to pick out all the supplies we were going to need. 'Adele we don't need three dog beds.' Simon complained when I kept putting things in our trolley. 'One in the bedroom, one downstairs, and one that we can carry him in when we go out.' He rolled his eyes as I grabbed more stuff. 'Oh my god, really? Adele. Clothes.' I laughed watching him get so mad at everything I wanted to purchase. 'If you stop complaining I'll reward you tonight.' I told him bitting my lip. He raised his eyebrows and I knew he would corporate now. 'Let's buy the whole fucking store then.' He joked. Once we got everything paid for and loaded it into the car, we started driving home. 'I can't wait for Scarlett to meet Jack.' I said as I watched him sleep in my lap. Simon turned and gave me a smile and nodded. 'She's going to go crazy.' He replied laughing. 'Oh I forgot to tell you Laura and Daniel are coming over for dinner so let's get takeaway.' He gave me an annoyed look and then let out a sigh. 'What time?' He asked. 'Seven.' I responded. Simon looked at his watch, twenty till five. 'So I have to wait till after they leave to have sex with my own girlfriend?' He said pouting like a little child. 'They'll be gone by 10 and then we can have as much fun as you want.' I said grabbing his hand and kissing it. He didn't look satisfied with the answer. 'Can we just do it really quick? Please.' It was cute how impatient he was sometimes. 'Nothing with you is quick, Simon.' I said placing my hand on his thigh and I knew exactly how much it was turning him on. 'Adele.' He said as I got closer and closer to his inner thigh. 'Looks like we're almost home. I can't wait to set up all Jack's new stuff.' I said pulling my hand away and smiling.

When Laura and Daniel arrived we ordered from a New Mexican place. Simon and Daniel watched football, and Laura and I sat in the kitchen drinking wine while we waited. 'Are you and Daniel still doing good?' I asked getting up to give Jack some food. 'We're doing great actually. Honestly, better than we ever have.' Laura replied taking another sip of her drink. 'What about you and Simon?' She asked. I blushed thinking about what we were going to do later in the night. 'Amazing. Look at us with two great guys. Cheers to us.' I said clinking our wine glasses together. The food arrived and we all went into the living room to eat while we watched a movie. But after a couple of bites the Mexican food started making me feel a bit nauseous. 'You okay, Adele?' Simon asked when he noticed I stopped eating. 'Yeah, just feeling a little full.' I responded not wanting him to overreact. After everyone finished eating, Daniel and Laura left and I'd never seen Simon so happy to be alone in the house.
