Today is the day I will be meeting Scarlett for the first time and nothing can describe how nervous I'm feeling. 'Babe, I'm about to leave.' Simon said walking out of the bathroom. I was laying in his bed trying to talk myself into getting up. 'What if she doesn't like me?' I asked from the doorway, as he started to walk downstairs. He turned around, 'she's six. Just give it time and I know she'll fall in love with you just like I did. Why don't you go by the bakery and buy us some special treats?' I gave him a nod and a soft smile. 'You'll do just fine. I'll be back in about an hour.' He replied blowing me a kiss. 'I love you.' I said as I watched him walk out of the front door. 'I love you too, angel.'

After I got ready, I drove the twenty minutes to the bakery. 'Hey, Adele!' Charlie greeted me when I walked in. 'Hi, Charlie. Can I have a box of Scarlett's favourites, please?' I asked her while I looked at all the new stuff they had out. 'Sure, we have some new biscuits that I made with her in mind so I'll throw those in as well.' I smiled at her and looked through my purse for my credit card. 'How's Scarlett doing anyway? I was off last time she came in.' Charlie asked ringing up my order. 'She's good. I'm actually meeting her for the first time later.' I responded gathering up my purchase. 'Well good luck, she'll love you for brining her all of these tasty pastries.' Charlie told me as started to leave. 'Thanks so much! See you next week.' I said waving goodbye.

The whole drive back to Simon's house I kept thinking of different scenarios that could happen. I pulled up and saw his car was already in the driveway and my nerves instantly came back. I took a couple of deep breaths and then got of the my car with the box of pastries and headed inside. 'I'm home.' I called out when I walked through the front door. 'Hey baby.' Simon said coming out of the kitchen carrying a cup of juice for Scarlett. 'I have the goods.' I replied showing him the box as he leaned in for a kiss. 'She's in the living room watching a movie.' He said taking my hand and guiding me to where she was. 'Scarlett, I want you to meet someone.' Simon told us daughter as he paused her movie. She looked up at him with big beautiful dark eyes and smile that exactly resembled his. 'This is my very special friend Adele and she has a present for you.' I smiled and opened the pastry box to show her what was inside. 'I love those!' She yelled jumping up and down on the sofa. 'Tell Adele thank you, darling.' Simon told her giving her a stern look. 'Thank you so, so much!' Scarlett said reaching up to give me a hug. 'It's alright. Would you like to go in the kitchen and pick out a few to eat?' I asked. 'Let's go.' She jumped to the ground and grabbed my hand, pulling me into the kitchen.

'I think she really likes you.' Simon whispered while we watched her put on a show for us in the living room. Scarlett had brought down all her stuffed animals and dolls from her playroom to be a part of her special performance. She started by telling us the names of all of her guests, there were about fifty, and then she went through all the princess songs. About an hour and a half later, it was bath and bed time. 'Can Adele give me a bath?' Scarlett asked Simon with puppy dogs eyes. He looked at me and then back at his daughter, 'if she wants too.' I agreed and we went into her bathroom to get the bath started. 'Can I put lots and lots of bubbles in?' She asked standing over the tub watching it fill up. 'We can put as many bubbles in as you want!' I told her handing her the lush bubble bar. After awhile of watching her play with her toys in the tub and helping her wash her hair, it was time to get out. Once she dried off, put her pink pyjamas on, and had me brush her hair for her, we went downstairs to find Simon. He was sitting on the sofa watching a football game, 'there's my clean little baby.' She run up to him to sit on his lap. 'Go get a snack and then we'll go read some bedtime books.'

Simon and I each held one of Scarlett's hands as we walked with her to her room. 'Pick three books, okay.' He told his daughter as he started to unmake her bed. 'Here, daddy.' she said handing him the books and climbing into her bed. 'Will you sit next to me?' Scarlett asked me. I moved one of the pillows and positioned my arm under her head. 'Are me girls ready for story time ?' Simon asked starting the first book. By the end of the second book Scarlett was out cold and had even started drooling on my arm. 'Thank you for being so good with her today.' Simon told he as we closed her door behind us and started walking into his room. 'She's great.' I said wrapping an arm around his waist. 'You'll be an amazing mother one day.' He placed his lips on mine and started unbuttoning my shirt. 'What if Scarlett wakes up?' I asked stopping his hands from going any further. 'She won't.' He said trying to kiss my neck. 'Simon, I'm serious. I'm new and the last thing I want is for her to walk in on us.' He pulled away and grabbed my hand. 'Let's do it in the shower then.' He protested startling the water and taking his clothes off. 'Fine, but we have to make it quick.' I responded taking my pants off. 'I love when your sassy.' Simon gushed pushing me against the shower wall. 'I'm sure you do.' I replied closing my eyes so I could focus on what he was doing.
