Chapter 4

Two Days Later

"God,my head is killing me."Connor said as he rubbed his head. Feeling his spider sense go off he sprung out of bed landing on the ceiling. 

"Uh...What?" Riv said as she stared up at Connor. 

"Did you wash my car?" Connor asked looking down at Riv. 

"Of course I washed the- don't try to change the subject!" Riv exclaimed. 

"Ok Ok sorry." Connor said as he dropped back onto his bed. 

"So you really do have Spider-Man's powers?" Riv asked. 

"Yup! And night vision. I'm the Spider-Man of The New Age." Connor proclaimed. 

"We didn't believe Jean but it looks like she was telling the truth." Riv said to herself. 

"We?" Connor questioned. 

"Me and your parents. It's not like she floated you in here you know." Riv explained,rolling her eyes. 

"Of course, she told you guys about my powers but not hers."Connor said shaking his head as he walked out of his room. "Actually she told us everything, how about putting on a shirt." Riv said throwing a shirt at Connor's back. Connor spun around and caught it. 

"Why? Everyone here has seen me without my shirt on even you!" Connor replied. 

"But Jean hasn't." Riv said walking past Connor with a wink.

As Riv began walking down the stairs Connor looked at the shirt in his hand. "It's about time she did." Connor said throwing the shirt into his room and jogging down the stairs.

As he reached the first floor Connor immediately began scanning the room. 

"She's in the lab." Riv said rolling her eyes. 

"What are we waiting for then." Connor said walking down the stairs that led to his parents lab. 

For as long as Connor could remember his parents had been working on a cure for cancer. As he reached the bottom of the steps he looked around. Everything was clean and carefully organized. Lab equipment and computers lined the walls and test tubes were perfectly aligned inside their cabinets. Sitting in a chair in the corner was Jean twisting her hair.

As she heard Connor walking into the lab she jumped to her feet. 

"Miss me?" Connor teased. Jean ran over and kissed him. 

When they finally broke apart Jean said "No." 

"I think you did." Connor said with a smirk. Instead of responding Jean just smiled and buried her head into his shoulder. 

"Uh, why aren't you wearing a shirt?" Jean asked,blushing. 

"Yeah, why aren't you wearing a shirt Connor?" Mom asked walking up to them. 

"Well, Riv told me to put one on and naturally that made me not want to do it." Connor explained. 

"Don't put the blame on me!" Riv shouted,glaring at Connor. 

"Quiet all of you!" Dad shouted as he studied a monitor.

"What are you guys studying." Connor asked,ignoring his Dad's glare. 

"After Jean explained everything that happened on Monday we decided to combine your blood with your father's cancer cure." Mom explained. 

"Because of my healing factor?"Connor asked. 

"Exactly your healing factor makes you immune to all diseases and poison's. It can even regenerate dead cells. You're the missing link!" Mom said excitedly.
