***Mitch sat at his desk with his empty cuppa tea in hand. He already finished drinking it, but there's something comforting about holding a warm mug in your hands, so he continued to hold it.
His laptop was playing fresh meat, his favourite sitcom.
He'd been craving attention from people all day, but when nobody seemed to get his silent plea, he retreated back to his bedroom with tea.
His room was simply dull. He had a queen sized bed with cream coloured blankets and black pillows, matching his black wooden headboard.
His carpet was dark and soft, and his walls were a light colour to match the blankets. He had two books shelves next to eachother near the door, and a desk against the wall in front of his bed.
He'd gotten in a small kerfuffle with Kirstie about the dishes, it was her week but she said it was his and then bam kerfuffle. So he decided not to text her.
Two of his three roommates, Kevin and Avi, were out of town for fortnight, and then bam loneliness.
You might be curious as to who he was trying to get attention from.
Yeah, it was his two Sphynx cats. But they aren't good conversationists anyway.
Although one person was on his mind. His fiancé, Scott Hoying.
They lived together, but Scott was staying with his friend Alex since he was on vacation.
Alex lived in America, so they barely got to see eachother. Mitch was okay with that, he loved Alex, don't get me wrong, but there was always a sting of jealousy when he thought about them in a house together--alone.
Although that day was the day that Scott was going to bring Alex to their house since Scott didn't want to leave Mitch out.
All of that backstory aside, let's get on with this story.
Mitch continued watching his show, but froze when he heard the door open. He began freaking out since he assumed it was a robby. He stood up and quietly made his way to the door, pressing his ear up against it to hear anybody.
"Mitchyyyyy!" He heard Scott call out. He sighed in relief and opened their bedroom door. He was slightly confused by his presence, but definitely wasn't complaining.
"Hello." Mitch said flatly but with a smile. Alex smiled widley and crashed into Mitch for a hug. Mitch hugged back with a small pained smile from how strong Alex was.
"Alex, you're about to crush him." Scott commented. Alex laughed and pulled back.
"How was your flight, Alex?" Mitch asked with his forced smile. He crossed his arms casually to try and seem more natural and unhating.
"It was long, but totally worth it. I'm kinda shocked that there wasn't any downtown abbey items in the airport gift shop?"
Mitch cringed mentally."I mean...no, not really. That's not the only show there is here. I'm not sure why it would be in the gift shop." Mitch laughed lightly with a slight shake of his head.
"I mean, Doctor who and stuff, yeah..." Alex trailed off. Mitch rolled his eyes when Alex looked away.
Alex wasn't very...bright.
He was the kind of person that thought The Queen ruled all of the United Kingdom and that all Joe Bloggs talk about is doctor who, Harry Potter, the Beatles, Sherlock all the time and say the words "bloody hell" and "blimey" in every sentence.
And thought that fish in chips was the only food that sold in the uk.
"Well, where is Kevin?" Alex asked curiously. Scott replied as he went to the kitchen and switched the lights on.
"Well, he actually got a boyfriend and now they're house hunting out of town." Alex nodded and followed Scott info the kitchen.
Mitch rolled his eyes for no true reason and followed them in.
"Would you like a cuppa tea, Alex?" Scott asked.Alex burst out in laughter, causing Mitch and Scott to look at eachother oddly.
"Oh my gosh, you Brits and your tea." Alex said, wiping his eyes. Mitch bit his inner lip to prevent himself from snapping back. He couldn't really blame the stereotype Alex had for them, but it still got on his nerves.
"So that's a no?" Scott asked. Alex shook his head. "No, I want some. I was just having a good laugh." He replied with a chuckle.
Scott chuckled and grabbed a mug that had the United Kingdom flag painted on it and turned on the tea machine.
"No way! That's so British of you too!" Alex commented.
"Uh...I guess?" Mitch replied; walking up next to Scott to give him a side hug since he didn't when he first walked in.
"Hey, where's 'the loo'?" Alex asked in a fake British accent. Mitch could see the slightly annoyed expression Scott wore, so he decided to answer for him.
"Right down the hall, take a left and in the second door on the right." Mitch replied. Alex murmured something about British people as he left.
"Oh my goodness..." Scott said quietly as he left. Mitch giggled as he put the tea bag inside the mug.
"He's been doing that for two days! All he's ordered is fish n chips and he's said 'oi' to me at least a hundred times!" Mitch laughed again and rolled his eyes playfully.
"God, Americans..." Scott mumbled.
"I swear, if we talked about marrying your sister or drinking beer all the time he'd loose his noggin." Mitch said with a laugh.
Scott laughed in agreement and picked the mug, only to drop it as he took a step.
"Bloody hell!"
"Bloody hell!"
Mitch and Scott both looked at eachother.
"Oh, blimey!"
Scott mumbled as he looked at the broken glass.
Mitch looked over at their living room where Netflix was displayed on the tv screen.'Recently watched'
'Doctor who'
'Downtown abby'
'Sherlock'
'The Great British Baking Show.'Mitch looked back at Scott.
"Shoot...we are the British stereotype."
