FINAL.

-----

Patrick felt how she squeezed his hand. It was tight and heart-wrenching for him. He reminded himself that they've been in the delivery room for almost six hours and still she couldn't push the baby out.

It broke him whenever he would see her eyes rolling because of immense pain that even him couldn't bear.

He tries not to panic, because the doctors are shouting from one another and he felt that it made Y/N pressured.

"Bring him out!" One of the doctors suddenly shouted, trying to control his stupor. "Bring Mr. Stump out!"

"What?" Patrick suddenly snapped, teetering out of his trance.

"Sir, we gotta get you out. The doctors couldn't focus."

"Page the anaesthesician!" The doctor barked to the nurse who's currently pushing Patrick out. "Mr. Stump, just go out!"

"Mrs. Stump, do you hear me?" One of the doctor asked. Patrick didn't leave until he saw how his girlfriend, yet, future wife, responded.

"I-I can." She said as a little relief ran through Patrick. It convinced him to go out, a few tears cascading.

As he sat down on the benches, he clasped his face and kept repeating the mantra: "They're the best doctors in Chicago and she'll be fine."

Right at the moment, Andy came and started to calm him down. He rubbed his back and gave him a bottle of water. Patrick declined, dashing his arm on his face.

"I'm so devastated we lost the other one." A nurse said to her co-worker as they sped somewhere. As he heard those words, Patrick couldn't help it, but to jerk his tears--even though it wasn't sure.

He remembered how pained she looked as she almost crushed his hand. He sobbed onto his shirt, his best friends comforting him.

They were speechless too.

A doctor went out, sighing in relief his scrub caught some blood on it. The boys looked at him, except for Patrick, of course.

"Mr. Stump?" He called.

Patrick wiped the tears cascading on his face. "Yes." He also wondered why there is a big smile on his face.

"I am sorry..." he started and then, Patrick jerked more tears. The doctor pursed his lips. "I am sorry that no one told you that your wife and baby are fine. In fact, Mrs. Stump gave birth to a healthy baby girl."

"Holy smokes!" He said between sobs, leapt from his seat and said "thank you" to the doctor countless times.

The doctor escorted him inside, letting him see the love of his life. But on the other hand, because of the labor process, it exhausted her.

"We had to send you out because one of the tiny wheezes on her vaginal walls were hit and we didn't expect that to be bloody." He explained. "And also, there are two women in labor a while ago. It torn everybody." The doctor heaved a sigh.

"Doctor, we've done the apgar score." A nurse said, giving the baby to Patrick.

"You can talk to her, Mr. Stump. We'll be giving her rounds of pain killers."

"Thank you for the update, Doc." He said as the doctor nodded to dismiss himself. "Hi," Patrick said to the baby. "I am your dad." He tilted a little. "And that is your loving mommy. You look like her."

He moves to the hospital bed a little bit. "Hey, Y/N."

Her eyes fluttered a little open. "It was scary."

"Super scary." Patrick added, rocking the baby.

"I thought I was gonna die."

"But you didn't," he murmured. "Do you--"

"Patrice," She said. "Can we name her Patrice?"

"Of course." Patrick said, a smile on his face. "Anna Patrice. A perfect name for a little girl."
