If you'll be thanking someone, it'll be your bestfriend, Meagan Camper and her beau, Pete Wentz.  Because of them, you met the man you were looking for--the man who was there during your brightest and darkest days.

He caught you spacing out as you stare at you match-maker friends.

"Ma cherie, are you okay?" He asks as he toys with the rings in your ring finger.

"I'm just...being thankful for my friends." You murmur as you toss your white lacy gloves over.

Smiling, he knew what you meant. Pulling you a little closer to him, he kisses your forehead.

"I love you so much," he says, gripping your hand tightly.

°°°°°Flashback°°°°°

Whenever you feel sad or alone, you always try to think of how the two of you met.

It all started when Meagan brought you to one of her boyfriend's gig. You tried to decline because you know what music does to you, even the jingles in TV commercials does the same effect to you.

When you and Meagan arrived at the venue of her boyfriend's gig, you immediately checked your medicine tab if there was any tranquilizer for you, just in case you lose everything.

"Y/N?" Meagan calls, startling you. You try to hide the tab in your purse.

"You know me, Meagan." You murmured. "I...I'm sorry."

Meagan was about to say a word but stopped as a guy with a bass guitar kissed her cheek.

"Hey!" You watched as your bestfriend's face illuminated on the kiss.

"Hi babe," the bassist said, then turns to you. "You must be, Y/N." He extends his arm to you politely. "I'm Pete."

"Y/N." You murmured as you look at your best friend, who was currently nodding at you, telling that her Pete means no harm to you. On the other way around, you shook his hand and at the same time, Pete felt you were nervous.

"Pete, let's go!" A guy in a fedora says as he pushes Pete over.

"Let's chat later, Y/N!" He says and follows the guy in fedora.

"I'm sorry...I am really nervous around men." You apologized to Meagan.

"It's alright. I know how you feel."

An hour later, Pete's band started to play. You watch Meagan as she falls in love with Pete plucking his bass guitar.

You wondered where to get a guy like him or someone sensitive to your feelings. You only wanted someone who will appreciate you whole-heartedly for who you are.

A sharp breath left your mouth, as it takes Meagan's attention to you.

"Y/N, are you alright?"

"I am."

Then, the microphone does a ear-wringing feedback, startling you and Meagan.

"Oops, sorry." The guy with the fedora says. "So...um I guess there would be two or three more songs before we end this gig..." He mutters. "And I dedicate this song to Pete and his girlfriend, who only sees themselves as the only ones in this room." He teases as you heard Meagan chuckle. "This is called Alone Together,"

'I don't know where you're going, but do you got room for one more troubled soul?'

Troubled soul. You said to yourself. Usually, songs never do this to you, they'll just make you cry at night, trying not to remember the memory of the past. But this was really different.
