"I'll be back this evening, Sam," Brieanna said.
"Are all your sisters going too?"
"Your Mom invited us to tour her perfume making facility, she promised to make us a special scent."
"I take it our little visit with them went well."
"Yes, your Mom seems really nice. She asked me to bring Nit this time."
"To be honest I was a little apprehensive to have you meet my family."
"Your parents were totally charming, I really want us to be close." Brieanna said as she sat on Sam's lap. "You seem a little...can't quite put my finger on it."
"They were a little too nice," Sam said, "I have some concerns." Sam was thinking about how charming Lemuel could be.
"They are trying hard. I plan to try equally hard to foster family unity. That is what you want?"
"Yes, I do want that," Sam said softly. "It's just...well your mother has me calling her Mom. My parents have you called them buy their first name."
"Some people are slower to warm up. Your parents are just more formal than my Mom, and that's alright."
"You are right Brie, I just worry too much." Brieanna laughed at his statement and kissed him.
"Lemuel's actions have hurt both of our families. I am not willing to let it hurt us anymore."
"I know they are going to love you Brie."
"That's because I'm so lovable," Brieanna teased.
"You do grow on a person..." Sam said as Brieanna interrupted and finished his statement.
"Like a fungus, you already told me that."
"How are you getting there?"
"Dreki will drop us off by the village. I'll call him to bring us back."
"Should I come?"
"This is a girls only outing you silly goon. Your father has been banned from the event too."
"Didn't know that. My mother has always been secretive about her special scents."
"So! I take it you warming up to me going."
"Yes."
"I'm going to ask your mother to make me a seductive scent. Then I'll come home and use it to seduce you." Sam laughed at her statement.
"You just need to blow in my ear to seduce me." Brieanna laughed then blew lightly into his ear.
The shop bell jungled announcing their presence as Brieanna, her sisters and her daughter stepped inside the shop. The shop itself was small with hundreds of glass bottles with glass stoppers lining the shelves. The shop had a pleasant but subdued scent and was shaded from the sun light.
"Welcome to my little shop Brieanna. Let me guess at names," Brenda said softly. "You must be Aednat, your Mother told me you were beautiful." Aednat smiled at the woman. "The other redhead is Susan and the dark blond Ruth. Your mother used to bring you in my shop years ago when you were little. You are obviously Gwen."
"You got them all, Brenda," Brieanna said smiling.
"Feel free to walk around and sample some of my scents. I plan to make a gift for each of you with a special perfume today."
"That is very kind of you, but please we would like to pay you for it," Ruth said.
"I would really love something seductive to use on Sam," Brieanna asked shyly while she blushed.
"I'll make you something that will drive him crazy," Brenda said confidently. They walked about the shop and Brenda assisted them to sniff her many scents.
"I love this one!" Aednat said.
"That's heather, let me put a drop on your pulse points," Brenda said smiling as Aednat eagerly accepted her help.
"Heather for our little Irish lass!" Brieanna said smiling at Aednat.
They had been in the shop for about an hour when Brenda said, "Let us adjourn to the back room. I have some tea and tea cakes ready. We can relax while I work magic creating a scent for each of you." They entered the room and sat together at a table as several female attendants served them tea. Susan added a generous amount of sugar and milk to Aednat's as she winked at her.
"This tea us splendid," Brieanna said as she sipped it.
"It's my own special blend," Brenda said, "I call it twilight." Brieanna had only taken a few sips when she felt her head begin to spin, her vision began to blur and her voice sounded slow as she tried to speak. Then everything was darkness. When Brieanna slowly regain consciousness she was startled as a large man held her down while a shackle and chain was affixed to her neck and ankles with locks.
"Where am I?" Brieanna asked.
"You are to be searched, take off your clothes," a voice said.
"GO TO HELL!" Brieanna replied. The next voice she heard was Brenda, her voice no longer kind but harsh."
"You will comply or my men will simply search you any way," she said.
"You didn't hear me obviously," Brieanna said standing tall, "GO TO HELL!" she reached into her dress for her knife not finding it. Then she was knocked to the ground and her dress torn off as several men groped her and laughing as they searched touching her, probing and fondling her. Brieanna shrieked as she tried to fight back attempting to bite her searchers as her hands began glowing red. Her searchers pulled her hair to restrain her from biting, and held her by the wrist controlling her hands not giving her a chance to use her magic, then simply hit her on the head with a short club to quiet her.
"All that was for nothing Brieanna," Brenda hissed and held up the two small knives she and Gwen carried. "The rest of you can co-operate or get the same treatment." Aednat was sobbing and clinging to Brieanna as her little legs were shackled. She was allowed to retain her clothing but the others were forced to strip. When the search was finished they were allowed to dress. They all quickly converged on Brieanna as they were left and locked in. The room was tiny, damp, and lit by a single flickering lamp. Brieanna wept bitterly in anger and shame as her sisters assisted her gently to dress in her ruined dress. She said nothing as her sisters held her and her daughter attempting to give comfort, their hands glowing blue.
Sam heard a knocking at his door and went to it. A well-dressed man was waiting. "Your mother sent me to tell you she has invited your wife and sisters to spend the night and perhaps a day or three." He added confidentially, "They all seem to be having a lot of fun working with all the scents."
"That sounds like my wife," Sam said smiling.
"The little girl liked the scent of heather best," the man added as he smiled.
"I'm glad they are enjoying themselves, tell my mother thank you." The man nodded then left. Sam walked into the kitchen to prepare his own dinner feeling happy that Brieanna and his mother were getting along so well.
