When the bus pulled up to the school the boys rushed off the bus before everyone else and split up.
"See you later Gabe" Alex called to his brother.
Gabe did not reply in anyway, he kept walking. Alex rolled his eyes and walked to his class and set his stuff down just as the bell rang. The teacher walked in, a short man who had a sense of humor when it came to doing most things. Alex liked him for the most part.
"Alrighty then class.... Alex! Finally showed up did we?" He called humorously.
Alex smiled and called back.
"Seemed to suit me today Mr.Chakras."
Mr. Chakras smiled and went back to teaching after the laughter died down.
"Okay, so as you know, it is the last day of school!"
The class cheered hearty enthusiasm.
"But, I regret to inform you, we have a final to take this time around boys and girls." He spoke sympathetically.
The class groaned audibly.
"Hey, it is not the end of the world, you have one final, and it is for English, English for crying out loud! You speak this language! It should all be very simple. Just remember, this could shape your future."
He handed out the test and then called out.
"You have an hour, when you finish, you can turn it in up here at my desk, and you will be free to leave when you are done."
Alex quickly began working feverently, filling in bubbles, writing short answers, and defining words. Then came the essay part of the test.
"Ugh, I hate these..." Alex groaned to himself.
He read and reread the question three times. He finally started writing in his answer in his loopy handwriting he had perfected, just legible to be read, but not so much that he had to take his time with it, he could write paragraphs in minutes instead of hours this way. He put the final period on the final sentence and looked at his handy work. That should fetch at least a B. He waltzed up the Mr.Chakras' desk and handed the test to him.
"Thank you Alex, have a good summer, don't get into to much trouble this time around you hear me?"
"I'll try sir." Alex said through a smile.
