Alex walked around what looked like a very large campgrounds. The boy followed him, stopping every now and again to whisper to someone. Alex kept walking towards a large marble building in the center. As he approached several guards wearing old Greek armour and spears.
"Relax, big D asked for him." The boy called behind him.
The guards lowered their spears and allowed Alex to pass. Walking up the stairs into a type of meeting hall Alex stopped in several yards from the raised platform. Several men stood and sat around the hall. All of them stopped talking as Alex passed, their eyes burning holes in the back of his head as he passed them. He continued his march till he stopped just mere inches from the base of the platform.
"Why am I here!" Alex shouted up.
All of the men who sat there looked down upon the him. One of the men was pouring wine into a glass. As if by magic, it turned clear when it reached his lips.
"Every time..... " The man muttered.
One of his compatriots nudged him and pointed down at Alex.
"Oh, yes, you there boy." The man called.
"Why. Am. I. Here!" Alex screamed.
The man look down bemused. His brow furrowed.
"You mean no one has told you who you are? What your potential is? Well this won't do at all." He spoke.
Alex looked at the man with a bit of respect, this man saw that he was confused and lost.
"Hunter!" The man boomed in a voice that seemed strange for someone of his size.
The boy from earlier walked meekly into the hall and fell onto one knee several feet from Alex.
"Yes sir?" He called.
"You mean to tell me that for the day that this boy was with you, you didn't tell him anything?" The man wondered.
"He woke up fifteen minutes ago sir." Hunter faltered.
It was the man's turn to look confused.
"Shouldn't he still be recovering?" He wondered.
"That's what I thought sir." Hunter replied.
Alex getting fed up of being ignored called out.
"Hello? Anyone going to tell me what the hell is going on here?!"
They both looked at him like he appeared out of thin air.
"Long story short, there is a war between gods, greek gods, and we happen to be losing." Hunter spat out. "We live with a bunch of children of said gods. Most of them are dead, me and a handful remain. I am the son of Apollo. We need you to help us win." Hunter finished.
"And how, do you expect me to a.) believe this, and b.) believe that you are the good side? You abducted me!" He finished with emphasis.
"Young man, you are the presence of a god already." The man called with a smile on his face.
"I don't see a god here buddy." Alex said jokingly.
"I'm a god you twit!" The man roared.
Alex took a closer look at the man. His hair was whitening, he had a pure white smile, he constantly glared at the cup of clear liquid on the table, and weirdest of all, he dressed like a man would if he lived at a bar; jeans, sneakers, and a t-shirt with words Alex couldn't read.
"You, a god, sorry if i'm not bowing and offering all kinds of gifts, but you don't look like a god at all." Alex replied sarcastically.
The "god" rose and walked to the edge of the platform and walked off, instead of falling, he hovered, then floated down to the ground and walked over to Alex,
"That prove my point boy?" He said grinning.
Alex stared in awe.
"So, who are you? S-sir." Alex added.
I am Dionysus! God of wine and merrymaking!" He called to the hall.
"So what do you want with me? I'm just a kid." Alex said befuddled.
"Just a kid huh? You ever notice something strange happened when you get angry or upset?" Dionysus asked him.
Alex dove unto his memories. He remembered when he and his brother were fighting and he gained some sort of supernatural strength and threw him off of him with ease.
"I guess, there are some occasions where something that I couldn't explain." Alex trailed off.
"That, is your gift boy." Dionysus spoke calmly.
"Then who is my father....?" Alex spoke calmly and carefully.
Dionysus looked the boy over.
"I can't say, he hasn't claimed you. Trust me though, you'll know when you're claimed."
