I woke up with Miranda staring into my face.
"Your hair."
"I know.," I grumble. We hear a gunshot and I scramble to my feet. "Oh, false alarm," Miranda tells me, I look to the fence just to see one of the guards had shot one out of the one hundred zombies around the fence.
"They're killing them today... I think." Jone tells us, more gunshots fire off, zombies collapsed near and far from the fence as guards at their posts shot them down.

We were all at the breakfast table again, eating the oatmeal they served. Miranda had been bugging me the whole time asking me what I did to my hair. I simply told her I found a knife and cut it myself.
"Well, you did a dang good job." She says, her eyes sculpting out my new hair I had given myself.
Hunter had been asking me how I felt, and I simply shrugged. I had a stir of feelings. Mostly confused, wondering why Luis helped me, wondering if my mother had died, wondering if we would ever escape this place.
I felt anger with myself. Here I sat, among my friends, who all had dirt smudges on their clothes and face. Here I sat, looking like a squeaky clean doll. Stupid Luis. I spotted him across the cafeteria, eyeing me. I rolled my eyes and slumped forward so Jone's body was blocking me from Luis.
"Hey, you okay?" Miranda asks, nudging me like she always does. "I guess." Is all I can mutter.
We went back to the camp and Jone gathered us up. "Today is the day we get the key." Jone tells us, "Once we get it, we take the rest of our group that is around us."
"What about everyone else...? Some of our group isn't even with Kyle and Beverley." Miranda points out.
I nod, but I pause. "We.. we aren't leaving them.. are we?" Jone goes silent and I realized I had asked a stupid question and knew he wasn't gonna respond with a stupid answer.
Jone just stares at me. "We'll come back for them."
There's the stupid answer.
Hunter hadn't said anything, neither had Miranda. Emily was chilling since she couldn't hear anyway. nobody said anything. "Plan set," Jone confirmed.

We were back at the same picnic table, the gunshots were still firing and it seemed like they were going to take years to kill that many off because more and more wondered from the woods around the fence and joined the walkers as if to see what all the commotion was about.
The carts were being hauled to the building again. This time it Kyle and Sammy. Sammy had sat on the ground. We ran across the field, once we reached them we exchanged hugs like always.
"The key?"
"Beverley got switched shifts trying to get this," Kyle says, waving a key in Jone's face. Jone took the key and shoved it into his pocket. "We're getting out of here, right now," Jone tells me. Surprised about how reckless he was about decisions, I stared at him.
The sky was graying over, clouds sailing across the sky. Thunder crackles above us, and I lifted my chin towards the sky. The sun had disappeared behind clouds.
"We can't just leave everyone... who are you, Jone?" Kyle asks, he looked more depressed than ever.
Jone hadn't said anything. "Answer me!!" Kyle shouted, grabbing a fistful of Jone's shirt. Jone wrestled him off, and Hunter pulled them away from each other.
