Hello again! I'm so happy whenever I go onto Wattpad and see the number of views have increased! Thank you to all you people who bother to give my crappy story a bit of your day! Now, it's finally time, drumroll please......for the birth of the AMAZING, FABULOUS, LADYBUG! Just so you guys know, this chapter is more explaining; it took longer than I expected and I'm so, so, so sorry! Next chapter has more action, I promise, so you can just skip to there if you want! Here we go.....

Marinette's PoV:

2 ordinary black earrings were in the box, but that wasn't what I was so surprised about. A small, red creature with an adorable dot on it's forehead was hovering in mid-air! "What, are you?" I questioned. "I'm a kwami called Tikki, here to give you your magic powers Marinette. You are the chosen one, destined for greatness!" it said in a high and bright, cheery voice.

"But....but I'm only a runaway princess! How can I be given magical powers? Besides, magic doesn't exist."

I scoffed, but inside I was in turmoil. Why was I admitting that I was a runaway princess? How did she know my name? How could she float in midair?

"Just put on the earrings and say: "Spots On!" Just don't say a word about this to anyone got it?"

"I still think it's a prank but okay...."

I put the earrings on, feeling very silly, and said, "Spots On!"

Suddenly the 'kwami' got sucked into the earrings, and a bright stream of pink bubbles swirled around me! I closed my eyes, and let the 'wind' die down before cautiously opening them. I looked down at myself, bewildered when I saw a whole new outfit on me. I had a white sleeve-less shirt on me with a red hankerchief attached to a gold collar, a brown corset, brown shorts with a touch of black, red with black leggings, black boots, brown with white edge gloves, 2 leg sheaths with a yoyo inside one of them and an arm piece. The clothes fit me perfectly, as if it was designed just for me. Maybe they had, maybe they hadn't. Looking at my reflection on an abandoned mirror lying around, I was shocked when I saw a red and black bandana around my eyes. My earrings also had turned red with 5 black dots evenly spaced out on each of them. Then, I realised. It just felt so....right. It was as if I was waiting for this moment my whole life, and now it was here, I felt electricity running through my veins, right down to my very soul. My fingers felt itchy, like they needed to grab onto something, until I realised that there was a very light, but still significant weight, on my left leg. I looked down, and I saw an intricately designed sword scabbard resting in one of my leg sheaths. I smiled at that; I always thought I was a leg sheath type of girl. Anyway, I reached down, and drew the sword out. Then, I felt it.

It was like a thrumming in the sword. Almost, like it was responding to me! It couldn't...could it? My fingers did feel satisfied so somehow. Hesitantly, I swished it back and forth. It was light, but balanced. It was new, sharp, and almost buzzing with life. The handle was brown with a simple gold leaf pattern going down it. It was slim and fit in my hand comfortably. All in all, I liked it. I gave it a few experimental swishes. Soon, I progressed into lunging and parrying an invisible partner. After that I was in a full blown fight, blocking, dodging, defending and attacking. I didn't know how I even learnt how to use a sword. I had never, ever, done sword lessons. "It's probably just the magic." I told myself. Sweat was dripping down my back, my hair was tangled, and I felt alive. I didn't even notice I had been practising for so long that it was almost pitch black. Using common sense, I said,"Spots Off!" and closed my eyes until the de-transformation was complete.

Tikki spun out of my earrings and everything from before came back. "So, how was it?" she simply asked. I smirked and said,"I've never been more alive."

"Well, now it's time to tell you all about being the chosen one. I'll explain and all you have to do is listen. If you don't want to be involved with this after my explanation, please take off your earrings and pop them back in the box. I'll do the rest from there, okay?" she seriously said.

"Okay."

"Your earrings are called the Ladybug Miraculous. There are 7 other Miraculous Holders out there somewhere. You are 1 of the 2 most powerful Miraculous Holders. The other one is called the Cat Miraculous, in the form of a ring. Your earrings are what makes you see me. If you take them off, I'll be invisible to human eyes. Of course, I'm not human, I'm a kwami. Kwami's have existing alongside some specially chosen humans since the beginning of who knows when! You can use your special power, called "Lucky Charm!" which gives you something that can help you win in a fight, but you can only use it once in 1 transformation. After you use it, you only have 5 minutes until you de-transform. I need re-charging after every transformation, preferably with something sweet, like cookies. I am what gives you the ability to transform into Ladybug. Ladybug can be whoever you want her to be, but in the past she was always a pirate. Pirates don't necessarily have to be bad, in fact, all of my human carers have been feared, but respected people." Tikki explained.

"The reason why I have been awakened from my slumber is because there is a bad energy coming from somewhere, and so if there is evil, there is good. The 'evil' side is called the Akumas. They are all Pirates, but they aren't good people. They loot and murder innocent civilians just for entertainment. But they aren't doing it willingly. There is a big boss out there who has a Butterfly Miraculous. This Miraculous can feed on an emotion of choice, but since it's in the wrong hands, the owner feeds on negative emotions. This 'owner' calls himself Hawkmoth, but we don't know much about him. When a person is feeling down or upset, he sends an Akuma down to them and it infects an object the person is holding. You just need to cut open the infected object, capture the Akuma in your yoyo, and 'release' it from evil. You also need your your yoyo to peform your special power, just throw it up into the air and catch it along with the other object you get. You'll know when they're infected by an akuma because of a pink butterfly mask that appears over their eyes when Hawkmoth talks to them. You can interact with anyone, just don't let your identity be known to them. That's it for now, and you can learn along the way."

"That's totally not going to make my brain explode, of course not." I said dryly. "Just, give me a sec."

"Of course!" Tikki said, "I know it's a lot to take in."

I thought and went over and over what Tikki said. The 7 other Miraculous Holders, the akumas, if I do, how to fight them, the kwami's, my special powers and why I was chosen. Late into the night, or morning, I didn't know, I finally could get my head around some of the information. All the while, Tikki was sitting on my shoulder, patiently waiting for me to speak again.

"Tikki, I want to be a Miraculous Holder."
