Hey guys, I'm so, terribly sorry of the wait, but school life has been hectic. I had to use up my free time and go overtime in my writing periods I have given myself. I put a lot of effort in this chapter, so I hope you enjoy it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Adrien's PoV:
My feet thumped to the floor, just in the nick of time, as my Chat Noir transformation wore out. Rolling out the impact, I stood up, surreptitiously blowing my dishevelled hair out of the way. I quickly stuffed Plagg into my pocket before going on my way.
I quickly ran, trying to make it to class on time. The bell rang just as I skidded into the classroom.
"Just on time Mr Agreste I see." Ms Mendelev was not impressed.
"Sorry Miss. I had a p-photoshoot I had to go to before school. Yeah that's it!" I apologised, the sentence stuttering out, even when it sounded fine in my head.
"Don't worry, I understand. Just don't be late again." She smiled before turning back towards the board.
Taking that as my chance, I quietly slipped into my seat besides Nino.
"Great lie bro. You should be grateful that charming smile of yours disarms pretty much anyone," was the greeting.
"I wasn't lying!" I weakly protested, knowing that it was no use.
"Sure, sure," he waved his hand and turned back to facing the front.
I sighed in relief; my secret was kept for another day. I ignored the evil giggle emanating from my jacket.
"Okay class, for your english assignment, you will have to write an essay-" Ms Mendeleiev began, getting cut off from the loud groans, "-about someone you admire." She finished with a frost-filled glare directed at the class.
The whole class quietened down, their curiosity piqued.
"The essay only has to be 700-800 words, but you will have to read it out in front of the class."
As expected, the groans started all over again.
"Come on-"
"Do we have to-"
"I don't have time for this-"
"I'm don't know who I'm going to do!"
I whirled around, searching the room for the only person who had accepted the assignment. Green met blue.
"Hey Marinette!" I greeted.
"H-hey!" she squeaked, and hid her face in her hands.
"Who are you going to do?" I asked.
"Um...I'm not sure....m-maybe about my parents? W-what about y-you?"
I inwardly frowned; why was I silently a bit disappointed?
"Oh, I think I'll do Ladybug. I'll have to ask her for an interview somehow."
That's actually easy with my alter-ego involved.
"Marinette?" I asked, slightly worried.
She was frozen on the spot, her lips parted in shock. Her bright bluebell eyes were wider than I had ever seen them and she wasn't even blinking!
"O-oh, would y-you look a-at talk- no I mean the time! I've g-gotta go!" she stammered when the bell rang.
She sprung out of the chair and ran out into the hallway, slamming the door closed faster than I could blink.
I stared after her, wondering what got her even more flustered than usual around me.
A hand slapped me on the back, pulling me out of my pondering state. I coughed, turning around to glare at a sheepish Nino.
"Sorry, but do you want to go to recess or not?" he asked.
Reluctantly, I nodded, and was pulled to the cafeteria to eat.
The rest of the day passed in tortuous agony, me impatiently waiting for school to end so Ladybug and I could patrol. That also gave me a chance to ask her for an interview with myself.
Sounds funny now that I think about it. Plagg was giggling the whole time, idiot.
Finally, the welcoming bell rang, and everyone had already packed their bags to rush out of the classroom like water from a tap. I was with them on the days Ladybug and I had patrol.
Jumping into the car, or limousine to be more specific, I bounced my knee up and down in excitement. If Gorilla noticed, he didn't comment on it. Mainly because he never talks.
I have no idea why I'm always excited for patrols so much, maybe because that gave me time to be with Ladybug and forget about all the problems at home.
Running up the stairs two at a time, I bounded into my room, locked the door, threw my bag onto the floor, opened the window and I was gone.
Jumping from rooftop to rooftop, I found my way over to our 'special' rooftop we met at for pretty much everything.
Grinning like a Cheshire Cat, I held out my hand.
"Shall we go My Lady?"
After patrol, as we were lounging back on the same rooftop, I took it as a chance.
"My friend, Adrien, whom you've heard of before has an assignment to write about someone he admires. He wants to do you, and wanted me to relay the question: Could we meet tomorrow after school in the park near the school for an interview?"
Ladybug surprisingly didn't look too shocked. She was actually more happy and embarrassed.
"Wow, I wasn't expecting anyone to write about me as someone to admire. But sure, since if I can help, then of course!"
Later, after me reprimanding her about how special she is, we parted ways with a wave.
I smiled; mission accomplished. But now, I will have to do some of the assignment at least without me relying solely on the interview. Pulling my chair out and clicking my computer(s) on, I started scribbling furiously into the night.
The next day, because there was Ladybug coming to an interview with me, I sprung out of bed.
I got ready for school so fast, that I decided to walk there and enjoy extra time I had.
I decided to throw myself into the school work so time passed by faster. Surprisingly, it did.
The rest of the day was a blur. If you asked me what subject I had last period, I would tell you that I couldn't remember.
I quickly snapped my phone open, sent a quick message to Gabriel Agreste and Gorilla saying that I would be going to the library to study and I could walk back when I'm done.
I literally ran all the way to the library, hoping to get there before Ladybug arrived to go over my questions for her. I mentally steeled myself for the inevitable awkwardness, but it didn't matter because I could talk to Ladybug for once in my normal self.
After double checking my notes and triple checking them, and continuously batting away a complaining Plagg, a red spotted suit came into my peripheral vision. I looked up with a smile.
Another cliffhanger. I'm sorry, had to do it. I haven't done a proper cliffhanger in a while so I had to give into the urge. Bye minous 😘
