When I finally caught up to him I was nervous and excited. Could this possibly be the moment I have been waiting for? However, when I tapped him on his shoulder, I couldn't help but wondering what Jay would think. When the guy turned around, my heart dropped. It wasn't Evan. "I'm sorry." I said quickly. "I thought you were someone else."
"I can be whoever you want me to be," the guy responded, as he checked me out.
"No," I said, starting to step away from him. "Sorry again."
I turned away from him, but he grabbed my arm and turned me to face him. I could tell then that this guy's emotions were a little out of control, and the alcohol on his breath told me he had a little too much to drink. "There you are, babe," Jay's voice came from behind me. He walked up next to me and wrapped his arm around my waist. I smiled at Jay and the other guy quickly let go of my arm. Jay glanced at the other guy and said, "Is this guy bothering you?"
Before I could answer the guy respond, "Look man I meant no trouble." Then he turned and walked away.
I looked at Jay and couldn't help but laugh and he laughed right with me. "Come on," Jay said. "Let's walk by the water."
I agreed and soon we were bare footed with the waves washing over our feet. We were quiet for a moment, enjoying the feel of the water. Neither of us really knew what to say next. Finally, Jay broke the silence. "I'm sorry it wasn't him."
I shrugged back. I knew he wasn't really sorry. In fact he was relieved and happy it wasn't Evan. Still I couldn't help but feel even more disappointed than I did earlier. I thought I was finally going to have some answers. Only to find out I found some stupid drunk college kid. "It was only our first attempt,"Jay added, trying to cheer me up. "Maybe we will have better luck tomorrow."
"Maybe." I said, with a sigh. It was at that moment that a larger waved broke on the beach and caused the water to rise almost up to our knees. I couldn't help but give a small shriek and move farther up the beach.
This made Jay laugh. "What are you doing?" He asked. "It's just a little water."
"I don't want to get all wet," I stated.
Jay laughed more and grabbed my arm, trying to pull me deeper into the water. I shrieked again and quickly managed to pull my arm from his grasp. This made him fall on his butt, getting completely soaked, as another wave came. He glared at me playful, stood up and started walking towards me.
"What are you doing, Jay?" I asked, as I took a step backwards. He smiled innocently at me and quickly raced towards me, giving me no time to retreat. He swiftly gathered me in his arms and started walking towards the ocean. I screamed and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Jay! Put me down!" I yelled. "Put me down!!!" The part of me that was touching Jay was already wet.
Jay laughed. "Are you sure about that?" He asked, as a wave came and I felt it on my ankles. He loosened his hold and I held on to him even more, making him laugh even harder.
"Stop, Jay!" I wined. "Don't let me go."
"Well, which one is it?" he chuckled. "Put you don't or don't let you go?"
"Jay! Stop!" I screamed, as he moved forward. "Take me back and put me down!"
"Put you down?" he asked.
"Yes! Take me back to the beach and put me down!"
"Alright. If that's what you want, I'll put you down."
"NO! JAY!" I yelled, but it was too late. He let me go, and from my middle and down was now completely immersed in the water. Before I was able to get my footing, a wave washed over me, drenching the rest of me with water. When the wave passed I glared at Jay, who was laughing hysterically. "I can't believe you!" I said, smacking his chest, somehow managing to splash myself with more water in the process. This only made Jay laugh even more. "Shut up." I mumbled, as I started to make my way back to the beach. Before I got too far, Jay's arms were around my waist pulling me further into the ocean. "JAY!"
Between his laughter he managed to ask, "What? You're already wet."
He let go of me and I turned to face him. "Yeah." I responded, as I splashed him. "And so are you." Jay laughed, as he splashed me back, and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't keep myself from laughing.
When we returned to the hotel our clothes were still wet, but had stopped dripping, for the most part. We parted ways when we got to our rooms, and went to get ready for whatever Jay had planned for the night. I could feel Jay's excitement through the walls and I couldn't help but feeling just as excited and a little nervous as well.
A/N I couldn't help but to give you a little more. I know it isn't much, but aren't they cute =)
