As the car started to slow my eyes sprung open. The sun head gone down and the moon had taken its place. The radio was softly playing now and the car came to a stop at a red light. "Where are we going? Are we there?" I asked, as I straightened up in my seat.

"Well, looks who's finally awake," Jay said, with a smile. "You've been sleeping all afternoon."

I rolled my eyes. "You didn't answer any of my questions. Are we there?"

Jay laughed, "Not even close."

"Then why are we off the highway?" I asked, followed by a yawn.

"We need gas." He answered, followed by a question of his own. "When was the last time you slept?"

"Just now," I joked, but Jay didn't laugh.

"That wasn't in a car," he added.

When I didn't answer he sighed and soon he turned the car off the road in to a hotel parking lot. "What are you doing, Jay?" I asked, as he put the car in park. "Let's go get gas then get back on the highway."

"You need a good night's sleep, Ri," he replied, as he turned off the car.

"We don't have time." I tried to explain, but I knew from what he was feeling there would be no changing his mind. I watched as he took off his seatbelt. "I can sleep in the car." I tried again.

"It's not the same." He replied, and then got out of the car. "If you want to know where Evan might be we do it my way," Then he closed the door and started to head towards the hotel. I crossed my arms over my chest and faced forward in the car. I was unwilling to admit defeat and get out of the car to join him. "Get out of the car, Riley Ann!" he yelled from outside the front of the car. My eyes locked on his and I didn't move. "Fine stay in the car," he said turning around. Before he walked to the door he made a point to throw the car keys up in the air and then catching it. Letting me know I had nowhere else to go.

After a few minutes of sitting by myself in the car I sighed admitting defeat and go out of the car. When I walked inside Jay just laughed. "Well, that didn't take too long. Here I thought I would be waiting at least an hour for you to finally see my point."

"I still think we should keep going," I replied.

He smiled, "of course you do." Then he walked up to the counter and got us a room. "Hope you don't mind" he said when he walked back over to me. "They only had a single left but it's cheaper." When he saw the questioning look on my face he laughed. "Don't worry I'll sleep on the floor." I nodded and followed him to our room.

"Not bad," he said, when he opened the door. It wasn't a very big room, but it had a double bed in the middle of the room with a couch across from it. To your right when you first walked in was the door to the bathroom. Jay was about to toss the car keys on the night stand when he caught me watching him and pocketed them instead.

I sighed because it didn't even matter if I had the keys. I had no clue where we were headed. I was completely at Jay's mercy and had to play by his rules. I let my hands fall to my side and asked, "So how are we doing this?"

"Well I figured you could have the bed, I'll sleep on the couch. That is unless you want to share the bed. Which you know I wouldn't mind," he joked.

"I meant this trip," I said, with a roll of my eyes. "You said we had to do this your way so what way is that?"

Jay sat down on the couch. "First of all, don't be so serious. You've been acting so uptight since you got to my house. Loosen up, have a little fun. We're friends so stop acting like I'm such a terrible person for wanting to go with you." I open my mouth to protest but I didn't get a chance. "Just promise you'll try to have a little fun, ok?"
