When I heard Jay returning later that night, I closed my eyes and pretend to be asleep. I heard him make his way over to where I laid on the bed. He crouched down, so his face was nearly level to mine and slowly brushed my hair out of my face. I let my eyes flutter open. "Jay, I-" I started, but he quickly placed a finger over my lips.

"I understand why you want to get moving, but let me do this my way. I need to do this my way," he tried to explain. However, I didn't need his words, his feeling told me everything I needed to know. To him this was his last chance, not only to try and win my heart, but to just simply be around me. This was our last chance to basically be friends because once I found Sam everything would change.

"Okay," I said, with his finger still on my lips.

"Okay." He repeated, as he placed his hand on my cheek. Then he nodded and walked over to the couch to lie down.

"Good night, Jay." I said a few minutes later.

"Sweet dreams, Ri."

The music was ringing in my ears. I didn't know why I was here. I didn't want to be here. There were too many people, too much noise. I just wanted to get outside, to get some fresh air. I just wanted to feel like I could breathe again, but it seemed like each step I took just moved me further and further away from the door. Out of frustration, I just stopped and was ready to allow the crowd to lose me. I felt like I had be trying so hard it was just time to give up.

The next thing I knew a hand was grabbing mine and pulling me in some direction. The direction, I think, I was heading, to the door, to air. I tried to tell the person it wasn't worth it, that we would never make it to the door. However, as soon as I opened my mouth a door swung open and we were outside on a beach. There was no one else, just me and this man who saved me from being lost.

Who was this guy who saved me? I couldn't tell who he was with the only light being from the moon and his back turned towards me. I took a step closer to try and see his face and as if he sensed my movement he took a step away. I stayed where I was and watched him, studied him really, and tried to look for any sign that would tell me who he was. Finally a sigh came from his mouth and his shoulders dropped.

"Hello, Love," he said, as he turned around and the moon lite up his face. "It's been awhile since I was the man in your dreams."
