Chrom
I was looking over a map in the strategy tent, confused on what our next move should be. According to the map, there where two routes that can get us to Regna Ferox. And the gods know that we need to get there as soon as possible. We've been traveling for about a week. Thanks to Anna's strategic expertise, the journey was going along quicker than I thought. Gods bless my tactician. Speaking of which, I should probably find her and ask for some advice on tomorrow's route. After the silent treatment and a slew of apologies, Anna finally forgave me for the whole "Not a lady" incident. Once again, gods bless my tactician. She can be so fierce when she wants, I guess I really like that about her. I sought off to find my friend.
"Hey, Anna? ... Anna! Are you in here? Anna!... HELLO? I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT OUR NEXT MOVE!" I yelled.
I heard Anna's voice from inside the tent. It's a bit hard to understand her words, though. "Chrom?! I-is that you? Er, if you could just wait outside, I'll just be a moment..."
I couldn't really understand her, but it sounded like she said: "come in". "What? Come on in? ... Gods, why is it so steamy in here? Did someone leave-"
"KYAAAAAAAAAA!"
Her scream startled me a bit, but it helped me find where she was. "Ah, there you are. I can hardly see a thing through this blasted steam... Anyway. I wanted to consult with you on tomorrow's march. You see..." I froze and my eyes widened. Why is she not wearing clothes? "Er, is there any special reason you aren't wearing any clothing?" Don't look down. Don't look down. Look straight into her eyes. Look at her face. Don't look anywhere else... But I failed.
All of my blood immediately ran into my face as I realized I'm staring. Come on, Chrom, you're better than this! Just look away!
Anna finally found her towel and wrapped it around herself. "Chrom? Rather than stand there like a slack-jawed village idiot... PERHAPS YOU COULD WAIT OUTSIDE LIKE I ASKED?!" She shouted at me.
My face was completely red. "But, I... You... Oh, gods, I'm SO sorry! I didn't mean to! That is to say-" I'm too embarrassed to form full sentences.
She grabbed her towel and points towards the exit. "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUT!"
"R-right! Absolutely! Straightaway! I'll, er, wait outside the tent." I stammered as I rushed outside the tent.
Stupid, stupid, stupid, STUPID! How could you have misheard her that badly!!! She almost threw a rock at me for not calling her a lady! I can't think of what she's going to do to me this time! I really hope there are no boulders around. Or mountains. Just then, the tent flap opened, and a very angry, red-faced Anna emerges. Her hair was still wet, making it look a darker brown than usual. It was in a sloppy ponytail and was without her usual braids that run around the middle of her head.
"All right, you! What sort of idiot blunders straight into the woman's bathing tent!?" She blushed.
I raised my hands in apology. "I'm sorry! Very, very sorry! I misheard you, I swear it! I had no intention of peeping!"
Anna sighed. "Just... Fine. Apology accepted. Now, what was so damned important?" she asked.
I calmed down a bit. "Oh, er, I was hoping you could offer some advice to tomorrow's route," I asked.
"Fine. What are the options?"
I stepped a bit closer to her, showing her the map. I felt warmth radiating throughout me as I got closer to her. She smells nice... ACK! NO, CHROM, SNAP OUT OF IT!!! I took a deep breath. "Well, according to this map, one route is this steep trail through the hills. Or we could circle the hills and follow the main road across the plain," I said. "I imagine either would work but wanted to see if you had a preference." Smooth. Real smooth.
Anna got that cute look on her face whenever she was thinking. Did I just think Anna was cute? "Hmm... I'd say the path through the hills. The main road would be easier, but we'd be more exposed if we encountered foes."
"Right... That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the advice," I said. "And, er... Yes! Well, that's it, I guess! So... yes. Bye."
Anna smiled. "Good-bye."
"And Anna? I'm really sorry about the bath thing. I honestly didn't mean to catch you like that." I apologized. I truly meant it, though.
Anna sighed. "It's fine. Water under the bridge. Let's forget about it and move on."
I smiled awkwardly at her. "Er, right. Yes. Good idea. So! I'll catch you later? Argh, no! I mean, I'll SEE you later! ARGH! NO! I mean...Good-bye!" I'm too embarrassed to function and walked away. I briefly heard Anna laugh in that cute way of hers. Stop calling her cute!
I walked into the strategy tent and wipe my brow. Then, I realized my nose was bleeding. "UGGGHHH!!!"
