Anna
"Alright, I think this area is good," Chrom said. We were on patrol together, like we usually were.
I nodded. "Alright, then. Shall we head back to camp?" I asked.
Chrom looked at me, he had a serious look on his face. It was making me a bit nervous. "Anna, can I ask you something?"
"Y-yes of course..."
"Well, when I first met you, you had this strange mark on the back of your hand. I had always thought that it was just some ink drawing of sort, but... erm, well when I uh, walked in on you..." A little bit of blush crept up on his face. "Well, I saw it again... I didn't want to ask you about it and honestly, I had forgotten all about it; but then it crept up in my mind again... and I wanted to ask you what it is."
"Oh, that." I lifted my right hand. "Did you want to see it?"
"If your comfortable showing me, then yes."
I began to take off my glove. "For any other person, I probably wouldn't be, but... I'm comfortable showing you. I trust you." My glove was fully removed and I held out my hand for him to see. "I don't really know what it is, honestly. I'd tell you if I knew."
Chrom stepped closer and took my hand in his. I'm not really bothered by this because of our bad habits on invading each other's personal space. Whether it'd be literally putting out heads together during strategy meetings, our hands gently brushing when we point at maps, how close we sit next to each other during meals and at the campfire. Heck, Chrom's even carried me to bed sometimes whenever he finds me asleep outside of my tent.
He examined my hand, brushing his thumb over the violet mark. "Hmmm, do you think it's like my brand?" he asked. My eyes immediately went to the Brand of the Exalt that's present on his shoulder.
"I don't know, really. But... I can't help but feel a little uneasy whenever I look at it..."
"It's odd indeed... I've never seen something like this before," he said, still holding my hand.
"Still, it'd be funny to learn if this means I'm important somewhere in the world," I chuckled, a bit a sadness lacing my voice.
Chrom's eyes went from my hand straight to mine. "Don't say that. Don't ever say that! You are important! Important to the Shepherds! Important to your friends! Important to me! Anna, you are more important than you may know." He gives my hand a slight squeeze before releasing it. "Never forget that." He smiled at me.
I smiled back. "Hehe, thanks. Now, if you don't mind - can we keep this between you and me? I don't want everyone asking me a billion questions that I don't know the answers to."
"Of course. Now, let's head back to camp. I think Stahl's cooking tonight. Let's go!"
Chrom
"Someone called me 'sir' today," Anna said. I nearly choked on my tea.
"What?"
"Yeah. I was in town, it was a bit windy so my hair was in a bun. I went to the map salesman, bought some maps, and he said, "Have a good day sir." To which I reply, "Ok then... you too." Maybe if my voice wasn't so low the result would have been different, but..." Anna casually sipped her tea.
