4 months later...

I get up and stretch, covering my mouth as I yawn. I look around and see my wife sleeping contently next to me. I smile. We've been married for four months... I can't believe it!

Well, not everything can be perfect though. Anna's been really sick for the past couple of days, and she only ever gets up to eat and go to the bathroom. I look at my poor wife, pity filling my heart.

I reach out and rub her back with my hand. She recoils at my touch, opening an eye. She groans softly, and snuggles back into the pillow.

"Not feeling any better today, huh?" I ask.

She painfully nods and curls into a ball "Uh huh..." She mutters.

"Well, you can just stay in bed again today. You don't want to overwork yourself." I say.

I take her silence at an "ok". I get out of bed, and prepare for the day. I get dressed, and walk over to Anna. I gently brush back her hair, and kiss her temple. "I love you." I say.

She opens her eyes slightly, and manages a small smile. "Love you..." She mutters before collapsing again.

I sigh "You're REALLY sick, aren't you?" I ask.

She nods as pain spreads across her face.

I kiss her temple again "My poor girl... well, call for me if things get worse. I have a meeting with the duke of Damerel, but I can postpone it if you feel like you need me today." I say.

"Nooo, you don't have to do that... You don't need to postpone your duties just because your wife is sick." She  mutters.

"Well, it's definitely something I'd do in a heartbeat. But if you're sure..." I say.

She weakly reaches for my hand "I'll be fine. Go do your work, ok?" She requests.

I sigh, "Ok. I'll have the maids bring you up some food, if you think you can manage it. I love you." I get up, and begin to walk away.

"Thank you..." She mumbles.

"No problem, I love you." I say again.

Silence.

She fell asleep again... my poor Anna.

...

"Alright, so with this plan, my state will be able to go through winter season without any problems. Do you agree with this sire- uhh, sire, are you listening?" Lord Oliver asks.

I snap out of my daze "Huh? Oh, my sincerest apologies Lord Oliver! My mind has been so distracted lately... once again, my apologies!" I say, embarrassed.

He laughs "Haha, it's quite alright milord, I expected as much. Your wife's birthday is coming up, and you have a kingdom to prepare for the winter season." He says.

I nervously rub the back of my head "T-thank you sir... I just have too much on my mind, it's hard to focus." I admit.

He chuckles kindly "I understand, I'll be in Ylisstol for another week, so we can finish this meeting gone other time!" He says.

I bow slightly "Thank you." I say.

He puts away some papers, "I have a feeling that you wife is the reason you're so distracted, isn't she? I heard a rumor that she is sick. Is that true?" He asks.

I sigh, and run my hand through my hair "Yes she is... the poor thing. She's been bed ridden for days now, and we don't know what's wrong!" I exclaim.

Lord Oliver sheepishly laughs "Haha, well it's natural for you to be concerned. You two are still considered newlyweds. I was the same with my wife whenever she was feeling unwell in the first few years we were together. Then I learned, she's as stubborn as a mule, and you can't get a word in with her about her condition without her getting angry! Haha!" He jests.

I laugh as well "Haha, Anna's the same way... anyways, thank you for understanding. I'll contact you once I'm more focused." I say.

Lord Oliver bows "Of course sire. And good luck with your wife." He says and exits the room.

I let out an exasperated sigh, and run my hand through my hair "Knowing Anna, if I go back now, she'll scold me for getting distracted. And I do not want to tire her out, or get punished by my own wife. I'll just finish up some paperwork, and say that Lord Oliver had a conflict." I say to myself. I head to my private study, my mind, still elsewhere.

...

"Ugghh!!!" I groan as I smash my quill into the desk. I've been doing paperwork for six hours now, and I've gotten nowhere. I sigh, and lean back in my chair. "I'm getting nowhere... maybe I should stop..." I set down the papers and get up.

Just then, I feel Anna hug me from behind. "Huh, Anna? What are you doing? Why are you out of bed?" I ask.

"I'm pregnant."
