I pace back and forth outside the birthing room "Rgggh... why am I not in there when Anna needs me?!" I angrily ask myself.

Anna went into labor earlier this morning, and she's inside the birthing room, giving birth to our child, and I was not allowed inside. I don't think the birthing process has actually started... but I'm still worrying my head off!

"Gods please let it go well..." I pray.

Just then, Frederick and Sumia run towards me "We heard that Anna went into labor! Is she alright?!" Sumia frantically asks.

I nod "Yeah... s-she went into labor early this morning... she's been in there for three hours." I respond.

"Is she giving birth right now?" Frederick asks.

I shake my head, and sit on a bench "No... not yet." I reply.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"

We hear Anna screaming in the other room. My hands start shaking. Frederick places his hand on my shoulder, which I find comforting. Another scream is heard, my whole body starts to shake.

As the hours go by, more and more of my friends start to appear.

"Is she going to be ok?!" Lissa asks.

"She'll be fine, darling! Don't worry!" Maribelle reassures Lissa.

Another scream.

I nervously rub my hands together and tap my foot on the ground. Please be ok... please be ok... please be ok... I silently pray to myself.

"Ay, she'll be alright, Blue. Anna will make it through this." Gaius says.

"Why am I not in there?!" I shout.

Gaius shrugs "I don't know Blue. This is how it has to be done I guess. All you can do is sit and wait." He says.

"YOU'D FEEL THE SAME IF YOUR WIFE WAS GIVING BIRTH!!!" I shout.

Gaius backs away "Ok geez, didn't mean to trigger you." He says.

Another hour passes.

Just then, we hear a baby crying.

I immediately get up, only to be stopped by Frederick. "Let them call for you milord. Don't go in just yet." He says.

I don't know what to feel. I'm completely numb.

A long, fifteen minutes pass. Then a midwife appears at the door.

"Right this way, sire." She says.

My body moves on it's own accord. I walk into the room, where I see a tired, red faced, crying, sweaty Anna, holding a small bundle in her arms.

"A-Anna...?" I stutter.

She looks at me, smiling and crying "Hey." She says weakly.

I'm completely shaking at this point "A-are you ok?" I ask shakily.

She laugh-cries some more "I'm fine..." We stare at each other for a moment.
