The next few weeks fly by in a mix of work, Morgan and I planning her wedding. Colton has been traveling a lot lately, he is trying to complete a big acquisition of a company. It's taking up a lot of his time, we have only seen each other four days in the last three weeks. Colton calls me every time he has a few free minutes, and we always talk before bed. As much as I miss him, I'm glad I've had the time to help Morgan get everything in order for the wedding. Now that all the wedding plans are taken care of, Morgan insisted that we all get together to celebrate. She is promoting the opening of a new nightclub downtown, it's supposed to be the 'hot new' hangout. Not entirely feeling the whole club scene, and being hit on all night, I invited Kane to be my date. Jax is also meeting us there, with his new girlfriend. I think Emma is going to be there too, I haven't seen her since the barbeque, and I'm not sure how I feel about seeing her now. My thoughts are interrupted by the doorbell, Kane must be here. I rush downstairs to greet him, excited to get out and have some fun.
"Hey, are you ready?" He asks as he gives me a hug.
"Yup. Wow you look good!" I exclaim as I hold him at arm's length.
He is wearing black slacks, with a white t-shirt and black blazer. His hair falling just above his baby blue eyes, he looks remarkably like Colton. Noticing their resemblance I start to really miss Colton. Kane smiles at me,
"Well, you don't look to bad yourself."
I'm wearing a red corset dress with black trim, and ruffle skirt. It's a little tight fitting, but Morgan made me buy it.
"Thanks, we should get going. If we're late Morgan will kill us." I laugh.
When we get to the club, there is already a line of at least 50 waiting to get in. Kane walks us straight to the door, the bouncer looks at us sideways,
"Are you on the list?"
"Yes, Jade Gibbons plus one."
He checks the list and nods to the doorman, who lets us in. The club is really nice, there are black marble floors throughout. Surrounding the dance floor are small chambers, with round tables and arm chairs. There is a huge balcony on second floor overlooking the dance floor, with red velvet curtains covering some of the chambers. Kane leads us upstairs,
"Where are we going?"
"Morgan said they would meet us in the VIP area upstairs."
I nod, and continue following him through the crowd. We find Cole in the biggest room in the center.
"So glad you guys could make it!" He hugs us.
"Where is everyone?" I ask.
"Morgan is making her rounds greeting guests, and Jax is dancing with his girlfriend. I don't think Emma is coming, something about not having a date."
Just then someone grabs me from behind squeezing me into a hug. I turn around and come face to face with Jax.
"Jax, there you are!" I return his hug.
"We saw you come in, and followed you up here. Jade, meet my girlfriend, Lydia." He says turning to a petite blonde next to him.
"Lydia hi, I'm Jade, Jackson's sister. Nice to meet you."
"Jade hi, I have heard so much about you!" She smiles.
Jax continues introductions, as I glance over the balcony searching for Morgan. I spot her making her way up the stairs to us. She grabs mine and Lydia's hands, dragging us towards the stairs,
"Come on, I want to dance!" She shouts back to us.
The three of us dance together like we are the only ones in the club. We are laughing and twirling having a great time, forgetting all the stresses of work and weddings. After four songs we all decide to grab a drink, we pick a small table near the bar and sit. Lydia and I chit-chat while Morgan goes to the bar. She seems like a nice girl, coming from a small town with a large family. She and Jax are attending the same college, they met in a graphics design class they share. Morgan comes back with three shots of tequila.
