I can hear voices all around me, some sound familiar but I can't make out who they are. When I try to open my eyes I realize I can't, no matter how hard I try it seems like my eyelids are glued shut. I try to focus on the voices, there are at least four different voices and I can't concentrate on any one enough to make out what they're saying. I manage to hear a few words here and there from the different people. I hear, 'ambulance', 'shot', 'critical', and 'head injury'. I think they are talking about me, why can't I remember what happened? I strain to remember, and then blackness fades in.

"Stop checking on me, I'm fine. Please, help my sister."

"There is nothing we can do, we just have to wait for her to wake up."

I actually understand what they're saying, not just bits and pieces. They said I have to wake up. I try to open my eyes, I'm immediately assaulted by bright lights. I squeeze them shut again and try to speak,

"T...turn the lights off." I manage to whisper.

At first I'm not sure if anyone heard me, no one said anything.

"Turn the damn lights off!" Jax snaps.

"Okay, the lights are off." Someone else says.

I open my eyes again this time I'm able to keep them open. The only light is coming from the open door, I look around. I'm in a hospital room with two beds, one is mine and the other Jax is sitting up in. The other voice I heard is a nurse she runs out of the room when she sees I'm awake.

"Jax are you okay?"

"I've been better, but you're the one that's been sleeping for a week."

"A week? What happened?"

"You don't remember?"

I shake my head, what should I remember? What did I forget?

"That's probably a good thing."

"Please tell me."

"You don't remember anything Trevor did?"

As soon as I hear his name images start flooding into my head. Trevor punching me, pointing a gun at me, my gun. I see him laying on the floor bleeding. My hands shaking as I pull the trigger, seeing him fall to the floor. Slowly all the memories of what happened come back to me. That whole horrible morning, I remember now.

"Jade, are you alright?"

"I shot him."

"Miss. Gibbons, so glad you're awake." A doctor says entering the room, and switching on the lights.

"Do you mind if I check your vitals?"

"No, that's fine." I respond while my eyes try to adjust to the sudden brightness.

"Can you tell me what hurts?"

"My head is pounding, and my ribs are killing me."

"Miss. Gibbons, you are a very lucky girl. Do you remember what happened?"

"Most of it. Was I shot? I remember having a gun pointed at my face and I heard a gunshot before I blacked out."

"You were grazed by the bullet, here." He says as he points to the side of my head.

I feel along the bandage wrapped around my head, when I notice a cast on my right arm. The doctor must see the shock on my face, and he starts to explain.

"You got pretty beat up. Your injuries are as follows, the bullet graze which is healing nicely and didn't do any real damage. A broken nose, your right arm is broken in two places, you have four broken ribs and three cracked ribs."
