I don't even remember anymore :D

Now, I'm not sure exactly where we were now...it was a week later, and we were somewhere in London.

Yawning, I rolled over in this crappy little bed in this crappy little room Grace and I shared.

Apparently Jensen had owned this place for years- three stories, nine bedrooms, and according to Jensen was older than him. So really, REALLY old.

I rubbed my temples as my head started aching- but as it started to subside little voices started talking all at once.

That was normal, right?

'The lamp knows too much.'

'Burn the room.'

'Don't trust the mushroom.'

'Get up.'

'Don't move.'

'I know what you are.'

It continued, some fairly sinister, some just plain stupid.

Feeling a massive heatrush, I got up and stumbled past Grace's bed which was by the door. Walking down the hall, I banged into walls, unable to walk straight.

I blinked, and was suddenly standing at the end of the hall, by the bathroom.

How the Hell did that happen?

'Alex?'

I turned slowly to see Jensen, and the voices were silent.

'Are you properly awake?' He asked.

'Obviously.' I snapped, my head clearing and the trippy effect wearing off.

'I wanted to ask you something.'

'Oh yeah?' I was half dreading, half expectant of the question.

'I need your help.' He said after a second's hesitation.

Oh.

'For?' I waved my hand expectantly.

'I need to shadow this girl, Charly. But I need you to help me out during the day.' He explained.

'So you're stalking this poor mortal girl, and you want me help.' I laughed quietly. 'I don't swing that way.'

'I'm protecting her from other vampires.' He growled.

I thought about it. 'Yeah, no. No, I don't want to.'

'Look, I know you've got to kill me.'

Having him say it brought back the turmoil a hundred fold.

'So the least you could do is help me do something good before you kill me and the HellHounds come.'

For some reason, that pissed me off.

'Yeah, I've got to kill you, but I'll do it in my sweet time when you're least expecting it.' I spat.

'You're a bitch sometimes, you know that?' He snapped.

'So I've been told.'

'Can't you swallow down that massive ego of yours for once in your life?'

'Not for you.'

'Fine.' He turned and walked off.

Grace and I sat around an oval wooden table eating breakfast whilst Jensen want and stalked that Charly chick.

'Protecting' as he put it.

'Hey,' Grace started over her peanut butter and jelly toast, 'Come with me to the library today, OK?'

I choked on my cereal. 'What? Why?'

'Because I don't want to go by myself.' She stated simply.

'But I've got to go send back some more sadistic bastards.' I said. 'Do you know how far behind I've gotten? I don't want another visit from the Big Man's evil persona.'

OK, I was half lying. I didn't get more charges until I cleaned up the ones beforehand.

Though if I didn't do it soon, I would get another 'visit' from the Dark Lord.

My tattoo burned from the memory.

'One more day can't hurt. Please?' She pleaded, giving me her puppy dog look she had perfected when I was 13.

After a second (my longest record ever so far) I caved. 'Fine,' I sighed. 'I'll go with you to your nerd convention.'

'Library.'

'Whatever.
